- Ability to research root cause issues related to manufacturing variances and provides cohesive reports to the plant controller and plant management
- Analyzing changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided, to determine effects on cost
- Analyzing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
- Recording cost information for use in controlling expenditures
- Providing management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.
- Analyzing audits of costs and preparing reports
- Making estimates of new and proposed product costs
- Reviewing the inventory audits according to internal controls policy
- Investigate cycle counting variances and resolve issues
- Analyze monthly standard vs. actual variances and provide concise, timely and accurate reporting of same.
- Analyze total cost of goods sold as part of the month-end close.
- Lead inventory aging process and identify obsolete inventory including inventory valuation
- Working with the Financial controller, develop annual budget.
- Perform monthly budget vs. actual analysis
- Under the direction of the Financial Controller, ensure month end closing process is achieved in an accurate and timely manner
- Complete assigned monthly account reconciliations
- Directly interface with the plant to understand and improve manufacturing costs
- Assist Finance Controller and Site Leader in analyzing and preparing capital expenditure
- Help to cultivate a mindset focused on accuracy and efficiency
- Maintain commitment to compliance including internal audit, external audit, and SOX audit
- Establish control matrixes for the plant
- Manage a team of two people with oversight over AP process and related controls.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
- 4 to 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Recent experience must include cost analysis and variance reporting.
- ICWAI Certification along with Commerce degree in finance/accounting
- Experience working within large ERP databases.
- Excellent analytical skills
- Highly proficient in MS Excel
- Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
