Our mission is to drive innovation and excellence in automotive engineering, digitalization, and sustainable mobility solutions, shaping the future of mobility.Job Overview: As an Anlauf Fabrik Engineer specializing in exterior assembly, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful launch and ramp-up of new vehicle production. You will be responsible for optimizing assembly processes, resolving production issues, and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety within the exterior assembly area.Key Responsibilities:
  • Pre-plan and integrate new vehicle models into production.
  • Ensure buildability of new models through design and process validation.
  • Analyze and improve exterior assembly processes to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle times, and minimize waste.
  • Identify and resolve production issues using root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Design and implement fixtures, tooling, and equipment to improve efficiency, ergonomics, and safety.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, manufacturing, quality, maintenance) for seamless new product integration.
  • Create and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and SOPs.
  • Drive lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.
  • Provide Design for Manufacturing (DFM) feedback to product development teams.
  • Validate parts for assembly issues and propose solutions considering assembly requirements and part drawings.
  • Manage and resolve issues with stakeholders using problem management tools within defined timeframes.
  • Maintain communication with cross-functional teams and counterpart engineers during hardware builds.
  • Participate in project synchronization meetings and cross-departmental working groups from prototype to series production.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with strong exposure to assembly processes.
  • Digital or plant experience in assembly validation preferred; Trim, Chassis & Final assembly (TCF) experience highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, assembly techniques, and quality control principles.
  • Hands-on experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, CATIA) for tooling and fixture design.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of digital assembly tools (Teamcenter, IC.IDO), part drawings, and tolerance concepts.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a team-oriented mindset.
QualificationsEducational Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's / Master's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications (Good to Have):
  • Proficiency in German language.
  • Experience with automotive exterior assembly processes.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis techniques.
  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
