Job Description: We are looking for a highly experienced CommerceTools Solution Architect with 20+ years in enterprise IT and architecture, including deep expertise in headless commerce, MACH ecosystem (Microservices, API-first, Cloud-native, Headless), and composable commerce platforms. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with proven success in designing scalable, API-first commerce ecosystems leveraging CommerceTools, Netlify, and Frontastic, while managing technical teams and ensuring delivery excellence. This role demands a strategic thinker with strong technical depth, capable of guiding solution design, leading multi-disciplinary teams, and ensuring that digital commerce platforms are built with flexibility, performance, and future-readiness in mind. Solution Architecture & Design Architect and design end-to-end commerce ecosystems using CommerceTools, Netlify, and Frontastic. Define API-first architecture strategies ensuring scalable, reusable, and secure integration patterns. Create solution blueprints covering frontend (Frontastic/React/Next.js), backend (microservices, APIs), deployment (Netlify/AWS/Azure/GCP), and third-party integrations. Build commerce experiences that are headless, composable, and easily adaptable to evolving business needs. Technology Leadership Serve as the CommerceTools and MACH ecosystem authority, guiding developers and architects across teams. Lead design of API contracts, data modeling, event-driven patterns, and cross-system integrations. Oversee CI/CD, DevOps practices, and cloud-native deployment strategies. Ensure architecture designs maximize flexibility, scalability, and performance. Team & Delivery Management Lead cross-functional teams of developers, solution designers, and integration specialists. Mentor and coach engineering teams on MACH principles, API-first design, and composable commerce practices. Establish best practices, governance frameworks, and design standards. Partner with PMs to ensure timely delivery aligned with architectural integrity and business goals. Stakeholder Engagement & Consulting Translate business requirements into scalable technical architectures. Conduct workshops with business and technology leaders to shape solution roadmaps. Act as the trusted advisor on commerce modernization and digital transformation strategies. Provide architectural trade-off analysis balancing time-to-market, cost, flexibility, and long-term sustainability. Required Skills & Qualifications Experience: 20+ years in IT solution architecture, with at least 5+ years in headless and composable commerce solutions. Proven expertise in CommerceTools, Netlify, and Frontastic. Technical Skills: Strong expertise in API-first solution design (REST/GraphQL). Hands-on experience with microservices, event-driven architecture, and cloud-native deployments. Experience in frontend frameworks (React, Next.js, or similar). Proven ability to integrate commerce platforms with ERP, OMS, PIM, CRM, and Payment Gateways. Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP). Leadership & Soft Skills: Demonstrated team leadership and people management experience. Strong ability to mentor teams and establish architectural best practices. Excellent stakeholder communication and consulting skills. Strong problem-solving skills with focus on flexibility and adaptability in solution design. Preferred Certifications CommerceTools Certification (if available). MACH Alliance recognized training. AWS/Azure/GCP Solution Architect certifications. Agile/Scrum Mastery.
