- · Design Management:
- o Act as primary engineering interface between Business team, Consultant, PMCs and Contractors.
- o Providing expert advice in Structural system, structural analysis, design and detailing of various structural elements - isolated/combined footings, raft, pile, pile-raft, columns, shear walls, slabs, beams, retaining walls etc.
- o Ensure timely delivery of approved engineering deliverables including quantification and preparation of Bill of Quantities, Technical Specifications and List of Makes.
- o Coordinate across disciplines (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire, Network, BMS, etc.).
- o Ensure compliance with the applicable standard codes and local area regulations.
- o Ensure closure of As-Built Drawings and final engineering documentation.
- propose value engineering in design of structures at various design stages
- o Review of retrofitting scheme.
- o Literature survey/study on structural analysis & design advancements, national and international codes/standards, current global trends, new technology, etc.
- o In-house work on organizational level initiatives such as standardization, cost optimization, reduction of construction time etc.
- · Quality Control & Assurance:
- o Establishing quality standards for all construction work.
- o Implementing inspection and testing procedures to ensure materials and workmanship meet specifications.
- o Addressing and resolving any quality issues that arise.
- · Environmental, Health, Safety (EHS) Management:
- o Develop / ensure the design and detailing is in strict compliance with the applicable statutory codes.
- o Identifying and recommending eco-friendly materials for various job areas.
- o Proactively identifying internal and external technical factors that could negatively impact on the project.
- · Contractor and Vendor Management:
- o Identifying and suggesting suitable Design Consultants, testing agencies and execution vendors as per the scale of work.
- o Managing relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and other vendors.
- o Ensuring contracts are adhered to and performance expectations are met.
- o Negotiating and resolving disputes if they arise.
- · Stakeholder Management and Communication
- o Serving as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, engineers, contractors, and other key stakeholders for Design related topics.
- o Cross-functional collaboration to support costing, contracts and procurement, planning, quality, safety etc. to have control over project cost, time, quality and safety.
- o Providing regular updates, progress reports with the project team, and addressing concerns from contractors and key stakeholders.
- · Close-out and post-construction
- o Coordinating the final inspection and commissioning of the facility.
- o Ensuring all necessary documentation (as-built drawings, manuals, warranties) is provided to the Business team.
- o Conducting a post-project review to identify successes, challenges, and areas for improvement.
- o Documenting lessons learned for future projects.
- Master's Degree in Structural Engineering.
- Minimum of 12-15 years of progressive experience in structural design, with at least 8 years specifically managing large-scale industrial projects (e.g., manufacturing plants, data centers, power generation facilities, chemical plants).
- Strong understanding of the PEB and large-scale industrial projects
- Proficient with at least one of the software packages in design of structural steel elements and connections: ROBOT/ SAP/ TEDDS/ Tekla and other appropriate software.
- Have working knowledge of Design software such as ETABS/SAFE/STAAD/RAPT/ ROBOT/ SCIA or other software of similar capability
- Candidates who have working knowledge of BIM software shall be preferred
- Possess sound knowledge and skill set in design of typical structural steel elements and connections by hand calculations and be able to visualize connection details in three dimensions. You should be able to comprehend the scope of details to be delivered and prepare essential connection details.
- Should be able to ascertain the correctness of mathematical model and interpret results from the analysis in software.
- Proven ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and project schedules
- Understanding of industrial mechanical systems (HVAC, piping, plumbing, fire protection), electrical systems (power distribution, control systems, instrumentation), and building automation systems.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in both verbal and written communication in English for business purposes.
