- Product Strategy & Vision: Develop and articulate a clear product vision and strategy for enterprise platforms, aligning it with Nielsen's overall operational and business goals. Identify opportunities to consolidate fragmented tooling, reduce licensing costs, and unlock automation across workflows. Lead build-vs-buy assessments, evaluating total cost of ownership, integration complexity, and long-term scalability.
- Roadmap Ownership: Own and manage the product roadmap, prioritizing features and initiatives based on strategic value, operational impact, and technical feasibility. Clearly communicate the roadmap to stakeholders across engineering, IT, operations, and senior leadership.
- Requirements Definition: Translate user needs, business requirements, and technical capabilities into detailed product specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Write clear PRDs that enable engineering teams to ship with speed and quality.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate closely with engineering, design, IT, operations, and vendor teams throughout the product lifecycle. Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams. Facilitate effective communication and decision-making to ensure successful platform delivery.
- Market & Customer Research: Conduct thorough discovery, stakeholder interviews, and workflow analysis to gain deep insights into user pain points, operational inefficiencies, and emerging platform capabilities.
- Data-Driven Performance & Iteration: Define KPIs for platform health, adoption, and ROI. Monitor performance and leverage data-driven insights to identify areas for improvement and guide future iterations. Comfort with analyzing and interpreting complex operational datasets is essential.
- Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders — including platform vendors — effectively managing expectations, contract/roadmap alignment, and communicating product updates and progress.
- Mentorship: Potentially mentor junior product managers, sharing best practices and contributing to the growth of the product team.
- Experience: 6–12 years of experience within product or technology companies, with a proven track record of successfully launching and scaling complex enterprise or internal tooling platforms. Hands-on experience with enterprise workflow, ITSM, case management, or CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Jira Service Management, or similar) as a product manager or engineer would be a plus.
- Strategic Thinking: Strong ability to think strategically and translate broad visions into actionable plans and detailed product requirements. Experience with build-vs-buy analysis and vendor evaluation is a plus.
- Technical Acumen: Solid understanding of software development processes, APIs, and enterprise system integrations. Ability to engage in technical discussions with engineering teams and evaluate platform architecture trade-offs.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to use data to drive product decisions. Experience defining and tracking operational KPIs and cost optimization metrics.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences — from engineers to senior leadership.
- Collaboration: Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority, including engineering, IT, operations, and external vendors.
- Customer Focus: A deep empathy for internal users and a passion for creating platforms that eliminate friction, reduce manual effort, and solve real operational problems.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field. Relevant certifications for platforms like Salesforce or ServiceNow are a plus. MBA a strong plus.
