Position SummaryWe are looking to hire a highly experienced, strategic, and technically sound professional for Purchase & Procurement to manage indirect procurement operations at our Bhiwadi plant. The role requires deep expertise in consumable materials, including lubricants, chemicals, packaging materials, cleaning agents, safety equipment, Tools and Equipment, with hands-on involvement in SAP implementation, vendor development, and project-based sourcing.The ideal candidate should bring proven experience in supplier negotiations, and should possess a strategic mindset toward cost control, supply risk mitigation, and inventory optimization, while being proficient in export logistics and international sourcing.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic ProcurementDefine and implement long-term sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives.Oversee procurement of consumables and MRO items.Manage indirect procurement activities and ensure cost-effective sourcing.Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure timely and compliant procurement.Supplier & Vendor DevelopmentIdentify, assess, and develop vendors – both domestic and international – ensuring high quality, on-time delivery, and cost efficiency.Implement vendor performance evaluation, benchmarking, and continuous improvement practices.Manage supplier audits, onboarding, and negotiations to ensure value-driven partnerships.Drive localization where feasible to reduce lead time and cost.Costing & Technical EvaluationEnsure cost modeling is used for decision-making.Monitor and track consumables expenditure, looking for opportunities to optimize costs. Implement cost-saving measures without compromising product quality.Inventory ManagementWork closely with the inventory management team to ensure the adequate stock levels of consumables and minimize stockouts or overstocking.SAP Implementation & ERP IntegrationPlay a leading role in SAP/MM module implementation and system optimization.Ensure accurate data management, procurement reporting, and dashboarding through SAP and other digital tools.Export & Logistics OversightCoordinate with export and logistics departments to ensure seamless flow of goods, compliance with export regulations, and optimization of freight and customs processes.Ensure export packaging, documentation, and vendor readiness as per international standards.Key Skills & RequirementsEducational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Postgraduate qualification (MBA) is an added advantage.
Experience: Experience in indirect procurement, with a specific focus on consumables (lubricants, chemicals, packaging materials, PPE) in the automotive or manufacturing industry.Knowledge:In-depth understanding of consumables procurement and supply chain management.
Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems for purchase order management and inventory tracking.
Knowledge of safety and regulatory standards for consumables, especially chemicals and PPE.Skills:Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Analytical skills with a focus on cost optimization and supplier performance.
Ability to multitask and manage multiple procurement categories simultaneously.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
