Location: Remote / MumbaiJob DescriptionWe are looking for a skilled PostgreSQL Developer with 4 5 years of hands-on experience in database development, performance optimization, and production support. The ideal candidate should be proficient in designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance PostgreSQL databases to support business-critical applications.Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain PostgreSQL database schemas, tables, views, functions, and stored procedures
Write optimized SQL queries and ensure efficient data access
Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing
Manage database migrations, upgrades, and version control
Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with best practices
Troubleshoot database-related issues and provide production support
Work closely with application developers, architects, and DevOps teams
Implement backup, recovery, replication, and high-availability solutions
Monitor database health, capacity planning, and performance metrics
Document database architecture and operational procedures

Required Skills & Qualifications

4 5 years of experience working with PostgreSQL in production environments
Strong proficiency in SQL, PL/pgSQL
Hands-on experience with:

Query optimization and performance tuning
Indexing strategies and execution plans
Partitioning and large-scale databases
Knowledge of replication, WAL, streaming replication, failover
Experience with backup & recovery tools (pg_dump, pg_restore, pg_basebackup)
Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments
Understanding of transaction management, locks, vacuum, and analyze
Experience supporting databases for high-availability and DR setups
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

Good to Have / Preferred Skills

Experience with PostgreSQL extensions (PostGIS, pg_stat_statements, etc.)
Exposure to cloud databases (AWS RDS/Aurora, Azure PostgreSQL, GCP)
Knowledge of NoSQL or other RDBMS (MySQL, Oracle)
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Liquibase/Flyway
Basic scripting knowledge (Shell, Python)

Educational QualificationAnySoft Skills

Good communication and coordination skills
Ability to work independently and in a team
Strong problem-solving mindset
Experience working in 24x7 production support environments (if applicable)
