- Electrical Maintenance Management
- Supervise and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of all electrical systems including:
- HT/LT switchgear
- Transformers, motors, MCC panels
- Furnaces (induction/arc)
- Rolling mill electrical systems
- EOT cranes, compressors, and utility equipment
- Minimize equipment downtime through effective maintenance planning.
- Power Management & Distribution
- Monitor power consumption and load distribution across the plant.
- Coordinate with utility providers and ensure optimal usage of power resources.
- Maintain and troubleshoot power factor systems, UPS, and DG sets.
- Team Supervision
- Lead a team of electrical engineers, technicians, and shift electricians.
- Assign daily tasks, monitor progress, and ensure safety practices.
- Conduct training sessions on equipment safety and troubleshooting.
- Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with statutory electrical safety norms and regulations.
- Conduct periodic safety audits, risk assessments, and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain proper documentation for inspections, licenses, and approvals.
- Project Management & Upgrades
- Plan and implement new installations or upgrades of electrical equipment and automation systems.
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for electrical projects.
- Support energy efficiency initiatives and monitor KPIs.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain logs of electrical parameters, breakdown reports, and maintenance records.
- Generate reports for plant management on electrical performance, failures, and preventive actions.
- Work with ERP/CMMS systems for data tracking and analysis.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, control panels, PLCs, drives, and instrumentation.
- Experience in handling HT/LT equipment in a steel manufacturing setup.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with electrical safety codes (e.g., IE rules, CEA regulations).
- Leadership and team management abilities.
- Knowledge of SCADA, VFDs, and automation systems (preferred).
