Undertakes MTO and duties of other disciplines of the Piping and Plant Layout Group when necessary and assists with the preparation of presentation material (e.g. videos, animation, plant views). Proven experience of common CAD systems. Checking of any piping details as required by the project (e.g. steam tracing, steam jacketing, drip legs, equipment trim). Prepares SPS details ready for checking by stress engineer. Pipe Stress Analysis: Capable of innovative approach to achieve cost effective and optimum design resulting in practical/sensible load transfer on structures and equipment nozzles supported with sound basis and documented calculations. Carryout and ensures approval of routing and supporting of critical lines including designing of supports. Familiar with discipline interfaces and how to influence impacts to the benefit of the project. Support construction, commissioning and procurements activities and liaise with project and client team as required c. Piping Specification: Detailed knowledge and concept of handling material management systems for pipe specification purpose. Coordinates with other licensors, other groups, and vendors to achieve design that is consistent with the requirement and is cost effective. Actively engages in the maintenance of P&IDs. Identifies long lead items and takes proactive steps to suit project programme. Provide discipline support to construction, commissioning and procurements activities d. Piping MTO: Effectively handles material management systems to analyse, report, and order quantities. Coordinates with other piping disciplines such as Piping Specifications, Piping Systems to achieve material control and generate requisitions. Liaises with procurement for issuing of requisitions and management of order quantities. Coordinates and provide requisitions for long lead items in time for procurement. Provide discipline support to construction, commissioning and procurements activities e. Piping Systems: Coordinates with client, groups, disciplines and work share partners to support CAD system set up that is efficient, consistent and appropriate to the project requirements. Promptly resolves and run clash reports and sets-up regular updates of smart plant review sessions. Prioritize and provide efficient support to all CAD users and aid in troubleshooting. Liaises with other Wood groups to trouble shoot interface CAD issues. Maintains the CAD systems and generate various reports to support efficiency of project execution.Responsibilities:Responsibilities: 1. Carrying out respective piping activities and preparation of deliverables as identified in the Functional Competencies as necessary on their appointed project. 3. Signing drawings and documents including reports, calculations and datasheets as necessary as originator/checker in accordance with correct procedures. 4. Ensuring engineering and design quality, technical accuracy of drawings, material quantities etc. 5. Execution of assigned work in accordance with applicable contract procedures and client and projects standards. 6. Adhering to Wood engineering procedures for design safety and adopting safe attitudes towards engineering design and raising features affecting the safety and integrity of the project with appropriate authorities. 7. Correct interpretation and implementation of all piping related functions in their appointed areaQualifications:Minimum Qualifications and Experience The following are the minimum qualifications and level of experience required to perform the essential functions of the role. Minimum 7 years of relevant experience or equivalent 2. Gained engineering experience in the process plant / or power industry, working in a project environment for a contracting company. 3. Project experience of working in a variety of projects including grassroots, brownfield and revamp types. 4. Sound knowledge of pipe routings and development aspects and phases of plot plans including understanding of other piping design skills such as stress analysis, specifications etc. 5. Experienced in working with large teams. 6. Experienced in using intelligent CAD systems, analysis software, various design codes and standards as applicable for various types of projects.
