Position Summary:Cigna Investment Management (CIM) has overall responsibility for the over $25 billion investment portfolio for The Cigna Group, a leading global health company and Fortune 500 company. Its assets are invested in public and private bonds, commercial mortgages, private corporate mezzanine debt and equity, and real estate equity. All CIM employees are supervised persons of a registered investment advisor called Cigna Investments, Inc. (“CII”).This position within CIM will support the Middle/Back Office functions for the asset class and portfolio areas within the business. Primary responsibility for ensuring that the organization’s operations are conducted in compliance with company policy and with all applicable investment laws and regulations at the Federal and state level. The Investment Operations Advisor is responsible for the day-to-day business operations, trade settlements, wire processing, reconciliations, data management, asset valuation processing, reporting, compliance, and custody bank administration.Summary of Key Responsibilities:
  • Develops and maintains thorough knowledge of CIM’s operational functions, structure and business practices, and applies knowledge to ensure compliance while optimizing operational efficiencies
  • Works closely with CIM investment functions and business partners, including IT, Finance, Legal, Enterprise Compliance, and Accounting, to implement operational processes efficiently and effectively.
  • Assists with additional process development, improvement and analysis projects related to CIM operations functions as needed.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with internal and external partners, service providers, and professional organizations to support operations and business activities.
Qualifications:
  • Graduation in business & Finance field.
  • Experience in the investment management industry with a focus on investment advisory
  • services at an asset manager, registered or private investment fund or similar institution.
  • Strong investment markets and asset class knowledge base
  • 3-5 years of relevant investment compliance and operations experience
  • Strong operational and process management skills
  • Strong problem solving, decision-making, organizational agility with interpersonal skills
  • Evaluate business and operational processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement and developing and implementing solutions.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence others within a matrix environment.
  • Strong technical skills and analytic orientation.
  • Experienced with or able to learn investment systems and general business systems.
  • High energy level, intellectual curiosity, proactive approach and sense of urgency.
  • Flexible with ability to manage time and juggle multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
This position supports Cigna Investments, Inc., an investment adviser registered with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”). The successful candidate will become an Access Person of CII required to comply with the personal trading requirements and restrictions contained in CII’s Code of Ethics.
