The Extruder Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the extrusion machinery used in the production of endotracheal tubes, with a specific focus on lumen extrusion. The role includes manual interventions where precision forming, trimming, and initial quality checks are performed.Key Responsibilities:- Operate and monitor the extrusion machine for manufacturing single- or multi-lumen medical-grade PVC tubes.- Prepare and load raw materials (PVC compound) as per batch requirement.- Ensure correct die head and tooling setup based on lumen profile.- Conduct in-process checks: tube diameter, wall thickness, concentricity, and visual inspection.- Perform manual cutting, trimming, or post-forming for lumen shaping (as per SOP).- Record operational data like temperature, RPM, puller speed, and lot-wise production output.- Monitor tube transparency, softness, and lumen integrity as per specifications.- Coordinate with QC team for first piece and batch approval.- Follow GMP, cleanroom protocols, and proper handling of medical-grade materials.- Maintain machine cleanliness and support preventive maintenance.-Ensure accurate labeling and traceability of produced lots.- Report downtime, deviation, or defects to the supervisor immediately.
