- Technical Leadership:
- Provides direction for, and is responsible for the output of multiple disciplines within Application Development.
- Defines and implements the software engineering strategy, ensuring that it aligns with the overall business and product objectives.
- Owns the application development capability for our Health Policy Admin systems aligned with the product vision as defined by the Global Healthcare Policy Admin product owner
- Approves applications development policies, standards and procedures
- Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and manage software development teams, fostering a culture of innovation, automation, collaboration, and excellence.
- Responsible for career development, performance management, and pay determination and communication to staff.
- Work with Global Healthcare Policy Admin Product Owner to ensure software development capacity matches product priorities and strategy
- Project Delivery:
- Oversees the execution of software projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Approves proposed project plans and application designs to ensure projects are aligned with standards and IT strategy
- Allocates appropriate resources to ensure that projects are completed within committed time and budget and are integrated with other software applications.
- Architecture and Development: Partnering with the Product Chief Architect, Guide the software architecture, design principles, and development processes to ensure scalable, secure, and efficient solutions.
- Operational Efficiency: Oversee implementation of DevSecOps to Streamline processes, tools, and workflows to optimize engineering operations and enhance productivity.
- Experience : Proven experience (10 years) in a leadership role within software development for commercial software products, with a strong technical background.
- Technical Acumen: In-depth knowledge of software development methodologies, source code management strategies, design patterns, DevOps, automation, and best practices.
- Technologies covered: In-depth experience of implementing software using Microsoft .Net Framework, C#.Net, web based and javascript technologies ( nodejs, Angular, React), Mobile technologies, API Gateways, Oracle Database
- Leadership Skills: Exceptional leadership, mentoring, and communication skills to guide and inspire technical teams.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to align technical strategies with business objectives and market demands.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Domain expertise: Strong undertsanding of Health Insurance domain with experience in managing and developing Claims and policy administration platforms. Exposure to both Individual and Group health plans a distinct advantage.
- Global and regulatory landscapes: Strong understanding and experience of working practices across multiple geographies. Experienced with regional nuances such as tax rules, regulatory interfaces, multi-currency, multi-language etc
- Contributes to establishing strategic goals across the function. Possesses significant freedom to act in the short term.
- Makes decisions, often based on limited information, that have a long-term impact across the function.
