An Automotive Parts Manager oversees the entire parts department, managing inventory, ordering, sales, and staff to ensure the service center has necessary components for repairs while driving profitability and customer satisfaction. Key duties include maintaining optimal stock levels, managing supplier relationships, forecasting demand, training staff, controlling costs, and ensuring excellent customer and technician service for parts.Key Responsibilities:
  • Inventory Management: Monitor stock, conduct audits, control obsolescence, manage cores, and maintain accurate counts for parts, accessories, tires, and oil.
  • Procurement & Ordering: Identify parts needs, forecast demand, place orders with suppliers, manage vendor relationships, and negotiate contracts.
  • Sales & Profitability: Achieve sales targets, control department budget, optimize pricing, and implement strategies to increase profitability.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and supervise parts department staff, delegating tasks and resolving issues.
  • Customer & Technician Support: Provide excellent service to customers and technicians, ensuring correct parts are available for timely repairs.
  • Operations: Oversee daily operations, maintain department organization, adhere to safety protocols, and manage purchase orders.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience: Previous auto parts management, inventory control, and leadership experience.
  • Skills: Strong customer service, communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of automotive systems, parts, industry trends, and relevant software.
  • Education: Often requires a high school diploma, with a business or technical degree preferred.
