- Assist Project Manager in overall MEP planning and execution
- Review drawings (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, ELV)
- Coordinate with design consultants, architects, and vendors
- Prepare MEP execution strategy as per project timeline
- Monitor day-to-day MEP site activities
- Ensure installation as per approved drawings and specifications
- Supervise contractors (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, firefighting)
- Ensure proper sequencing with civil & interior works
- Assist in quantity take-offs (BOQ verification)
- Track material consumption vs BOQ
- Verify contractor bills and RA bills
- Support in cost control and variation tracking
- Prepare and track:
- Shop drawings
- Material submittals
- Method statements
- Ensure approvals from client/consultant before execution
- Maintain proper documentation (important for audits & handover)
- Coordinate between:
- HVAC vs ceiling layouts
- Electrical vs furniture/workstations
- Fire fighting vs services clashes
- Participate in coordination meetings
- Resolve site clashes quickly (MEP + Interior coordination is key)
- Assist in preparing project schedules (MS Project/Primavera)
- Track progress vs baseline
- Identify delays and escalating issues
- Ensure milestone achievement
- Ensure all MEP works meet quality standards
- Conduct inspections and checklist verification
- Ensure compliance with client specifications and standards
- Ensure safety practices at site (especially electrical & working at height)
- Coordinate with safety team
- Conduct toolbox talks for MEP workers
- Assist in:
- HVAC testing & balancing
- Electrical testing (IR, continuity, load testing)
- Fire alarm & sprinkler testing
- Ensure all systems are functional before handover
- Prepare:
- As-built drawings
- O&M manuals
- Snag list clearance
- Support final handover to client
- Strong coordination skills (MEP + Interior integration)
- Knowledge of codes (NBC, NFPA, local authority norms like BMC/NMMC)
- Software:
- AutoCAD
- MS Project / Primavera
- Excel (for tracking & reporting)
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical/Electrical/MEP with 5+ years of experience in MEP execution for construction or fit-out projects.
- Strong understanding of MEP systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire fighting, and ELV coordination.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project/Primavera, and MS Excel for tracking and reporting.
- Knowledge of relevant codes and standards such as NBC, NFPA, and local authority regulations.
- Good coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills, especially in handling MEP and interior integration.
