Project Owner - Insurance Underwriting - 7+ Years - India (Remote/Hybrid)We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Project Owner with a robust background in insurance and underwriting to lead digital product initiatives and drive transformation. You will serve as the bridge between business and technology teams, ensuring that solutions align with underwriting business needs, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.Location:PAN India (Remote/Hybrid), Preferred: Bengaluru, Pune, Delhi NCR, MumbaiYour Future Employer:A high-growth digital transformation company empowering insurance leaders with cutting-edge platforms and solutions built for compliance, scale, and business agility.Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams for underwriting projects.
  • Own the product backlog, prioritizing based on business value, compliance, and operational needs.
  • Work closely with underwriting SMEs to define requirements across risk scoring, policy issuance, and premium calculations.
  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of underwriting solutions aligned with regulatory frameworks and strategic goals.
  • Conduct impact analysis, risk assessments, and feasibility studies for product changes or new initiatives.
  • Translate complex underwriting processes into user stories, acceptance criteria, and system features.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, backlog grooming, reviews, retrospectives).
  • Partner with compliance, operations, IT, and data teams to ensure smooth rollout and adoption.
  • Capture post-deployment feedback to drive continuous improvement and solution refinement.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • 7+ years in the insurance domain with a minimum of 3 years in underwriting.
  • Deep expertise in underwriting workflows, policy lifecycle, and rules engines.
  • Proven track record as a Project Owner, Product Owner, or Business Analyst in insurance tech.
  • Strong grasp of Agile methodology, tools (JIRA, Confluence), and delivery frameworks.
  • Experience with underwriting platforms such as Guidewire, Duck Creek, Majesco, or equivalent custom solutions.
  • Ability to analyze and model complex business processes into actionable tech features.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional coordination skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certifications: CSPO, SAFe PO/PM, or PMP
  • Familiarity with IRDAI or HIPAA regulations
  • Exposure to data analytics and decision-support tools in underwriting
  • Knowledge of workflow engines, DMS, or AI-based underwriting platforms
