Purpose of the RoleThe role is responsible for end-to-end product lifecycle management of a particular product (line); identifying market opportunities & white spaces based on insights from consumer trends across industries (including improvement needs) and co-creating new product configurations (SOI) & business cases. Deliverables include program planning for maintaining relevant, competitive, and aspirational products and ensuring robust progress up to DR0.Job Responsibility1. Customer Insights:Conduct Market research (with external and internal teams) to bring in competitive intelligence and market information.
Monitor technology trends and prioritize technologies which suits to overall strategic intent and product proposition.
Develop understanding of customer segmentation & assess sectoral requirements.
Identify attractive product spaces.2. Product Planning:Gather inputs on Risk management for business and financial risk and develop product plan strategy to absorb & respond to the changes in external factor to stay on course to achieve vision/mission (Competition, oil, technology, forex and duty structure)
Generate attractive product spaces & mobility solutions.
Develop product concepts (mobility solutions) that are aligned to strategy & business priorities, concurrent & competitive, and aspirational.
Assess and determine appropriate product placement, pricing and volumes as per business priorities.
Propose mid-life interventions, product variants to be launched based on business priorities and received feedback.
Organize assessment of product market performance and drive improvement actions including annual interventions.3. Program Planning:Initiate new product configurations (SOI) and business case.
Develop the new product concept and detail out specifics of product aligned to market requirements.
Liaise with key stakeholders for working out the customer value proposition for the specific product offering.
Incorporate inputs from customer quality CFTs and field inputs – both through field services team and determine appropriate plan of action for product improvement.
Work with product development teams to act on product feedback received.
Resolve issues at a product level as received internally/ externally pertaining to market, product, pricing, and volumes specifically.
Carry out PDCA and incorporate learnings in process & product.
Identify upcoming risks for QCD metrics, develop and implement countermeasures. (PDCA within program)
Drive pre-KO process with well-defined scope and business level targets to conceptualize product.
Achieve business case objectives, product performance targets through MFL levers, PMXU, aggregate selections, product & price positioning, manufacturing strategy, PALS/PAT, etc. and Kick-off the programs.
Drive programs till DR0.Desired Candidate Profile
  • Education - Graduation in Engineering (Mech./Automobile/Electrical)
  • Relevant Experience :
  • 10-20 years’ experience in the domain of new product development, product life cycle management and product marketing.
  • In depth knowledge & trends of Market/Customer, Business Management and Products.
  • Experience of NPI Processes and Practices.
  • Experience of at least 1 full scale projects in Vehicle Integration, Program Support, Product Marketing, etc
