We are seeking a Network Security Developer who can bridge development and network security operations. This role combines hands-on network security work with development responsibilities, with the long-term goal of building automation that reduces manual operational tasks. You'll maintain and develop our existing scripts and tools while handling day-to-day network security operations on Juniper platforms. As you build out automation solutions, you'll gradually transition from reactive operations to proactive development, helping the team scale more efficiently.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelopment & Automation
- Develop network automation frameworks using Python and configuration management tools to streamline Juniper device operations and policy deployment
- Build automated deployment systems for Juniper SRX firewalls and MX routers including security policy management and configuration validation
- Create self-service tools and APIs that enable other teams to request network changes without manual intervention
- Manage code deployments through custom scripts and maintain version control using Git and SVN for configuration templates
- Implement automated testing and validation for network configuration changes before production deployment
- Handle server and package maintenance including system upgrades and operational tool maintenance
- Handle day-to-day network security operations including policy management, incident response, and system maintenance
- Deploy and manage Juniper networking equipment (SRX firewalls, MX routers, switches)
- Create, deploy, and manage network security policies (ACLs, firewall rules) across Juniper platforms
- Respond to DDoS attacks and security incidents including IP, ICMP, TCP, UDP attack vectors
- Maintain VPN infrastructure (IPSEC, site-to-site, remote access VPNs)
- Work with centralized authentication systems (TACACS+, RADIUS)
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation for critical network security incidents
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to gather requirements, design secure network solutions, and act as subject matter expert for network automation
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation to respond to critical network security incidents, with focus on automating responses to DDoS attacks and other threats
- Troubleshoot complex issues across the stack from physical layer to application layer
- Independently manage high-visibility projects from start to finish within strict deadlines
- Strong hands-on experience with Juniper networking equipment - SRX Series firewalls, MX Series routers, switches
- Solid understanding of network security operations including policy management, incident response, and troubleshooting
- Deep knowledge of networking protocols (BGP, OSPF, ISIS, IPSEC VPNs, VRRP)
- Firewall and VPN technologies implementation and maintenance
- DDoS mitigation techniques and network security incident response
- Experience with centralized authentication systems (TACACS+, RADIUS)
- Python development skills for building and maintaining network automation frameworks
- Version control systems experience including Git workflows and SVN template management
- Network automation knowledge with configuration management tools and deployment pipelines
- Operational scripting abilities to maintain existing tools and create new automation solutions
- Infrastructure maintenance experience including server upgrades and package management
- Configuration management platforms (Ansible, Terraform, Salt)
- API development and integration for network system connectivity
- Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS, GCP, Azure networking)
- Monitoring and alerting systems (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)
- Modern data formats (JSON, YAML, XML) and database technologies
- Systems architecture ownership - design and build network security systems from the ground up
- End-to-end system responsibility - from initial design through deployment and ongoing operations
