- The Electrical Maintenance Supervisor oversees the maintenance and repair of machines, utilities, and electrical systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely. This role involves supervising a team of permanent operators and temporary casuals, diagnosing issues, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Additional role and responsibility as an 'Electrical Safety Officer' in compliance with the applicable regulations established by the Central Electricity Authority.
- Core expertise in:
- Power Transmission & Distribution: Power transmission scheme, transmission voltage, primary & secondary transmission and distribution system, sub-stations and their equipment, overhead lines, underground cables, etc.
- HT Equipment: AB switch, metering kiosk, breaker/ring main unit (RMU), transformer, etc.
- LT Equipment: Three-phase & single-phase distribution, distribution panels, RTPFC panel, synchronization panel, voltage stabilizer, SCADA system, VFD, starters, earth pits, lightning arrestor, motors, etc.
- Switch Gear & Protection: Types & selection of switches, protective fuses, circuit breakers, relays, etc.
- Installation, Testing, and Maintenance: Insulation testing, earth resistance testing, relay testing, energy meter/ammeter/voltmeter/wattmeter testing, cable joints, transformer oil filtration & testing, etc.
- Electricals Compliance/Regulations: Knowledge of local, state, and national electrical codes and standards, Preparing and maintaining legal documents related to electrical compliance. Co-ordination & fulfil the requirement of Electrical Inspector.
- Legal Approval & Certification: Co-ordination with Government authorities and taking approval for revised Sanction load, connected load, contract demand, testing of CT, PT & Meter, Release Load including Handing Over Agreement with MSEDCL. Charging Permission & Plan Approval of HT electrical equipment's from Electrical Inspector.
- CNC Machines: Horizontal machining centre (HMC), vertical machining centre (VMC), turning centre, vertical turning lathe (VTL), turn mill, special purpose machines (SPM), PLC, drives, servo motors, etc.
- Conventional Machines: Turning machine, milling machine, drilling machine, surface grinding, cylindrical grinding, honing machine, etc.
- Utility Equipment: Diesel generator, air compressor, transformer, UPS, EOT & jib crane, forklift, stacker, pallet truck, cooling tower, air handling unit, etc.
- Fire Detection/Extinguishing Systems: Fire hydrant system, smoke detector system, fire alert system, etc.
- Work as a shift supervisor; coordinate, manage, and guide activities/workload of maintenance.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for repair or replacement.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem efficiently.
- Plan and execute preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, overhauling programs, and replacing parts according to schedule or TBM/CBM to improve the reliability of equipment.
- Respond immediately to equipment breakdowns and conduct daily maintenance team meetings to closely monitor breakdowns, MTTR, and MTBF.
- Perform Why-Why analysis, root cause analysis, and PM analysis for breakdowns.
- Check, test, and calibrate instruments.
- Follow and fulfil all statutory, safety, and legal requirements.
- Plan effective spare part management.
- Participate in 5S, TPM, GreenCo, QMS (ISO 9001:2015), EMS (ISO 14001:2015), and OHS (ISO 45001:2018) standards systems.
- Engage in OPL, Kaizens, group activities, new projects, etc.
- Monitor and reduce the consumption of natural resources (electricity, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and regulations, including employee safety training.
- Plan the layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures according to specifications and codes.
- Train staff in the use and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
- Maintain records of electrical consumption, maintenance, and repairs.
- Address emergencies or urgent issues related to electrical systems
- Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years.
- Knowledge of SAP & EOHS.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., PLC, Drives, SCADA) are preferred
