A Database Developer who can create, implement and manage expansive database applications. Has experience in reviewing database performance implementing performance centric data base queries and stored procedures.
Maintain responsibility for maintaining one or more complex databases. Analyze the design, development, and delivery or implementation of data solutions, including architecture design, prototyping of concepts to proof of concept, analysis of the development of standards, design, and test plans, code, module design development and testing, data solution debugging, design and implementation of a solution that follows efficient design techniques, and development that meets and exceeds the intent of the design of the data solution. Assist with the planning and engineering of the organization's databases.Essential Job Functions:
Experience with a development and maintenance of Logical and Physical database models.
Actively developing PLSQL DDL, DDM scripts for large/complex data tables:
- 5+ years of experience for Database development.
- Experience with supporting Linux, Solaris, and Windows systems engineering efforts in system design and evaluation, solution engineering, software development, or system administration
- Experience with Database Schema as Code tools (e.g., Toad)
- Ability to design and develop complex SQL queries and reports to retrieve required data
- Ability to develop DDL and DDM to support changes to Postgres tables
- Experience with database partitioning and microservices
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies or the software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Experience with installation, maintenance, and administration of Postgres,
- Experience with installation, maintenance, and administration of Single-store similar Database ,
- Experience analyzing and tuning queries to improve performance
- Experience configuring, integrating, patching, and securing Postgres database
- Experience with cloud exposure, preferable AWS - hands-on experience on projects where the DB is hosted in cloud (not OnPrem)
- Experience with DB evaluation across various offering products and solutions.
- Experience in evaluate and identify in-memory vs. disk usage and optimize.
- Exposure to handle big data / data mart / time-series DB will be a value add.
- Awareness on critical DB metrics to monitor and setup alerts.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required. 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.
- Experience with code reviews on SQL change sets and work with developers to create and enforce best practices
- Exposure to security scanning tools, configuring their use and working with teams to fix vulnerabilities?
- Experience with ETL and Data Warehousing methods
- Experience with Replication technologies such as AWS DMS or Postgres
