This role will work with business analysts, data analysts, developers and technical support. You will be taking part in activities from conceptualization, definition and planning through implementation, release, enhancement, and eventual sun setting – the full product lifecycle. This role acts as an expert to translate client needs and external data source specifications into customer change notifications and deliverables that provide accurate Market Data on the Morningstar Market Data feed, with a focus on automation and data quality.
This role is based in our Mumbai office reporting to the Director of Reference Data (EDP).Job responsibilities:Strategic Leadership & Process Ownership
Cater to our 24*5 Global Operating model with optimum utilization of resources and capacity.
Build and lead a Data Research Analyst team that delivers on its mandate, using key metrics for success, data quality & productivity.
Play the role of “Owner” for Market data services team and Data Asset on Data Lake.
Translate Product Strategy/roadmap into user stories/requirements. Create and maintain the product backlog to manage these stories.
Management of the rationalization and improving the quality of Market data reference data meeting business and product delivery as decided with executive leadership.
Responsible for Corporate action collection/validation and processing on the market data feed, including price adjustments, symbology changes and entity mapping.
Maintain existing subscription workflows & create new packages as per requirements.
Partner with client services, solutions and stakeholders to understand how users interact with the product.
Work closely with Development team to answer questions, convey product knowledge and deliver direction during product development.
Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization, develop business cases to evaluate revenue/cost impact of new products/features using approaches such as competitive analysis, market research, market sizing and financial analysis.
Act as Scrum Master/Project Manager for sprint planning and project tracking.
Develop and document use cases to ensure new functionality meets and exceeds user expectations.
Oversee the execution of the team’s key priorities and strategy against the roadmap.
Effectively report up to senior management and provide insights on risks, challenges, and solutions.People Development
Identify and develop talent on the team; focus on having the relevant competencies and skills developed in the team, aligned to our global Data Competency Model.
Provide coaching, mentorship, and training as appropriate and according to the specific needs of the individual’s role and responsibility.
Conduct performance reviews, manage team compensation tasks and discuss career development paths and opportunities for direct reports.Ideas & Innovation (Tech Savvy)
Work closely with the Technology, project team and other stakeholders to review, prioritize and track the progress of automation goals/AI, Machine Learning (ML) opportunities.
Identify areas of automation & process improvements for our processes, systems, and applications/tools.Qualifications: Bachelor/master’s degree or equivalent in finance/technical discipline with an exceptional academic record.
Total 10+ years of professional work experience including 5+ years of people management experience.
At least 5 years of relevant experience required, with some demonstrated experience as a business analyst, product owner, tech lead or product manager desired. Knowledge and experience with Market data and a technical acumen are also desired.
Customer Centricity and ability to handle intense customer oriented situations is a must
Working knowledge of Exchange Data
Excellent business judgment, analytical, problem-solving, planning and decision-making skills, in addition to exemplary communication and presentation abilities overall.
Experience with real-time data feeds and financial domain desirable.
Scripting language knowledge (Python is preferred).
SQL Database knowledge (ANSI and T-SQL preferred).
Knowledge of AI/ML document processing an advantage.
Automation mindset to facilitate process improvements.
Strong People and Project management skills.
Proven experience in optimizing processes with visible outcome.
Strong work ethics and eagerness to learn in a constantly evolving and fast-paced environment.
