“Cloud Engineering Infrastructure Development”
Are you interested in building large-scale distributed infrastructure systems for the cloud? The OCI team is building new technologies that operate at high scale in a broadly distributed, multi-tenant cloud environment. The ideal candidate will have proven experience designing, building, and implementing distributed, cloud-scale systems. You should be both a rock-solid coder and a distributed systems generalist that is comfortable diving deep into any part of the stack, including interaction with hardware. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.Your Opportunity
Apply your extensive technical expertise and architectural skills to evolve and scale the data platform. You will solve difficult problems in distributed, highly available micro-services and virtualized infrastructure, leveraging database, data warehouse, and analytics.As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
- Develop and demonstrate a broad set of technology skills in Java technologies, micro-service design patterns, relevant frameworks, and architectural concepts
- Build a global-scale, self-service data platform for sourcing and ingesting petabytes of structured and unstructured data to address a wide range of analytical and modeling needs
- Experiment with compute, storage, and networking infrastructure, as appropriate, and optimize Horizon's operation across multiple dimensions: performance, reliability, cost, etc.
- Work in an extremely fast-paced and challenging, global environment
- Work directly with architects to ensure newer capabilities are built by applying right design principles
- Work with remote and geographically distributed teams to enable building the right products, using the right building blocks, and making them easily consumable by other products
- Ensure customer success by supporting issue analysis and fix activities during test phases, as well as production issue resolution
- 3+ years of experience in the design and implementation of complex software systems
- Deep understanding of object-oriented design specifically within a cloud environment
- Strong Knowledge of Data Warehousing, ETL processes, Cloud Computing, and Analytics concepts
- Proven experience with the Programming language PLSQL is a must.
- Sound fundamentals in coding, algorithm design, problem-solving, and complexity analysis.
- Proven experience with a major Programming language such as Java, Python, Go, C# or C++ is a plus.
- Aptitude for problem-solving.
- Experience with massively scalable systems is a plus.
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related field
- Experience with Cloud Platforms such as OCI, AWS, Azure or GCP is a plus.
- Experience with enterprise-class RDBMS (Oracle, SQL*server), Cloud Data warehouse (Snowflake/Redshift).
- Experience building distributed cloud services.
- Experience in Oracle Cloud Analytics
