Empower Yourself.This role is responsible for preparing and delivering both internal and external financial reporting for Empower’s insurance companies, separate accounts, and/or mutual funds, in collaboration with U.S.-based colleagues. Reporting may adhere to U.S. GAAP, IFRS, or U.S. Statutory accounting standards and may include investment company reporting.Essential Functions:Perform the internal and external financial reporting for Empower's insurance companies, separate accounts, and/or mutual funds in conjunction with US colleagues. Reporting may be on a US GAAP, IFRS or US Statutory reporting basis. May include investment company financial reporting.May run queries from the investment reporting database.May utilize various financial statement software.May prepare financial reporting support in Excel and/or Word.Will prepare variance analysis from prior periods and seek explanation of variances.Will become familiar with new financial reporting and accounting regulations and learn about appropriate changes to reporting disclosures in order to confirm reporting to new requirements.Will provide financial statement audit support upon request.Follows departmental policies and procedures and will draft desk procedures.Executes internal controls and completes proper evidence of execution.May configure financial reporting systems and may test upgrades to systems.Other duties as assignedQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or FinanceOther Preferred Qualifications:minimum 2 years of financial reporting experiencePublic accounting experience preferred.Investment experience preferredAdvanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel);Proficient in MS AccessExcellent problem-solving skills.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Ability to proactively identify improvements in work product/processes.This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities and qualifications of the job.
