
Senior System Engineer (Windows)

- Manage Windows server operations: installation, configuration, application/software integration (IIS, SQL, etc.), patching, troubleshooting, and decommissioning.
- Handle incident and problem resolution, vendor escalations, and prepare incident reports.
- Plan and execute system changes, including coordination, change planning, and stakeholder notifications.
- Perform regular and on-demand health checks of services/solutions, review capacity planning, and ensure successful execution of backup operations.
- Collaborate with the global infrastructure team on project rollouts (e.g., new infrastructure components, security hardening, etc.).
- Work closely with infrastructure teams across EMEA and AMER regions for knowledge sharing, task execution quality checks, escalations, and to perform delegated activities (e.g., server configuration/deployment, troubleshooting, incident management, and standard changes). Provide extended time zone support as needed.
- Act as the second level of escalation for the Pune L1 team, providing coaching, oversight, and ensuring proper execution of L1 tasks. Escalate to the AMER and EMEA infrastructure teams when required.
- 5+ years of server support experience in a similar role.
- 3+ years of experience working in a production environment or data center with a heterogeneous IT infrastructure.
- ITIL v3/v4 Foundation certification.
- Strong expertise in Windows Server Management (Windows Server 2019 and above), Microsoft Active Directory, and Hyper-V virtualization.
- DevOps experience, comfortable scripting in PowerShell, Bash, YAML, etc.
- Experience using infrastructure monitoring and supervision tools (Nagios, PRTG, Grafana, etc.) and APM tools like Datadog.
- Relevant OS certifications.
- Basic knowledge of SQL database management and SQL queries.
- Basic understanding of Azure cloud infrastructure services.
- Basic Cybersecurity knowledge and practices.
- BE/BTech or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field (or foreign equivalent).
- Experience in the payments industry is preferred.
- Experience in the procurement domain is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; team player with a mindset of continuous learning.
- Good problem-solving skills, ability to handle stress, and adaptability to changing environments.
- Excellent documentation and time management skills.
