Role Objective:To lead and implement Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) systems and processes at renewable energy project sites (Wind & Solar), ensuring compliance with statutory norms, industry standards, and organizational safety policies to achieve safe and sustainable project execution.Key Responsibilities:EHS Management at SiteLead the implementation of EHS management systems during project construction & commissioning phases.Ensure compliance with applicable laws, statutory requirements, and renewable energy industry standards.Develop and execute project-specific HSE plans, risk assessments, and method statements.Safety Supervision & MonitoringMonitor all site activities (civil, mechanical, electrical, lifting, working at height, excavation, transmission line works) to ensure safe practices.Conduct regular site inspections, hazard identification, and corrective action follow-up.Ensure PTW (Permit to Work) system is followed rigorously.Training & AwarenessConduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and refresher training programs for site teams, contractors, and subcontractors.Promote a culture of safety, wellbeing, and accountability at site.Incident ManagementInvestigate incidents/accidents, conduct root cause analysis (RCA), and implement corrective & preventive actions.Maintain records of near misses, unsafe conditions, and share learnings across projects.Contractor & Stakeholder ManagementEnsure contractors comply with company’s EHS guidelines and statutory requirements.Conduct contractor EHS capability evaluation and audits.Sustainability & EnvironmentMonitor and ensure compliance with environmental management practices (waste disposal, dust & noise control, water usage, biodiversity protection).Support ESG and sustainability initiatives at site.Documentation & ReportingMaintain EHS MIS, dashboards, and statutory records.Report site safety performance (LTI, LTIFR, man-hours) to management on a regular basis.Required Qualifications & Experience:Education: B.Tech (Electrical / Mechanical / Civil / Environmental). Additional qualification in Industrial Safety (NEBOSH / IOSH / Diploma in Safety) preferred.Experience: 8–12 years of experience in EHS for renewable energy projects (Wind & Solar mandatory).Technical Skills:Strong knowledge of EHS regulations, IS/IEC standards, and renewable energy-specific hazards.Experience in safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigation.Familiarity with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS standards.Behavioral Competencies:Strong leadership and team management skills.Ability to influence and enforce safety culture across contractors.Good communication and reporting skills.Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work under challenging site conditions.
