This role ensures reliable data ingestion into Splunk indexers for operational and security analytics.Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Splunk Universal Forwarders on servers and endpoints
- Ensure accurate and secure data forwarding to Splunk indexers
- Manage deployment server configurations for centralized UF management
- Troubleshoot data ingestion issues and optimize performance
- Tag metadata (source, sourcetype, host) and apply parsing rules
- Collaborate with Splunk Admins and IT teams to onboard new data sources
- Document UF configurations and maintain version control
Minimum qualifications / Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
- Good years of experience with Splunk UF in enterprise environments
- Familiarity with Linux/Windows system administration
- Understanding of Splunk architecture and data pipelines
- Experience with configuration files (inputs.conf, outputs.conf, deploymentclient.conf)
- Knowledge of SSL, data compression, and network protocols
