  • Services offered by DRS CoE:
  • Business Intelligence: Interactive & Self-serviced BI visualizations services, leveraging group standard tooling. The portfolio includes BI dashboard development, Business analytics solutions and SharePoint based development.
  • MI & Reporting: Production, distribution, and maintenance of accurate, comprehensive, and timely MI, with high level of information clarity and usefulness. The service includes bespoke analysis, quick turnaround ad-hoc support and investigative analytics.
  • End to End Risk Management Meeting Support: Agenda setting, information management, pack preparation (including Enterprise risk reporting, Key MI (KMI)), Ignite template adherence, distribution and secretariat services.
  • Global COO to support execution of the Regulatory Compliance Data Strategy and assist in putting data at the forefront of the Regulatory Compliance agenda.
  • Regulatory Compliance have recently created a Data team within Compliance CDO to execute against the Compliance CDO Data Strategy. This role will be involved in a number of areas to support the execution and includes:
  • Data Quality & Improvement
  • Data Landscape & Data Simplification
  • Policy & Governance
  • Data Analysis
  • The data team supports a number of RC Services including Assurance, Risk Strategy, Policy & Governance and specialist services such as Surveillance and Conflicts.
  • Data Management & Governance: Implement DUSE controls, improving BCBS 239 compliance score, remediating DQ issues across risk types
  • Strategic Data Delivery: Enabling compliant and controlled access to data from strategic sources (through RADAR) and supporting all BI, MI development.
The Opportunity:
  • The candidate would be part of Group Functions BI team supporting Compliance MI function, which provides qualitative and quantitative compliance management information (MI) covering all lines of businesses across the world. The MI is aimed at assisting HSBC’s management of compliance risk and at creating transparency towards external parties.
  • This position holder is responsible for timely delivery and accurate reports to the stakeholders.
  • Develop and successfully manage existing/ new reports/ dashboard development and BAU Production.
  • Improve and streamline existing report production processes.
  • Be an individual contributor engaging with senior stakeholders across regions/ LoBs and ensure that their expectations are continuously met, and the team is able to add value to their day-to-day operations.
  • Implement effective controls and ensure adherence to procedures & other business specific regulations.
What you’ll do:Impact on the Business
  • Work as part of a team to design, develop and deliver reports, dashboards, and analysis to global risk & compliance.
  • Provide qualitative and quantitative compliance management information (MI) covering all lines of businesses across the world. The MI is aimed at assisting HSBC’s management of compliance risk and at creating transparency towards external parties.
  • Lead internal customers to define and/or improve their reporting, investigating queries where appropriate, as well as drive consistency of MI globally.
  • To develop and successfully manage and lead variety of projects which could be offshoring related or new report/ dashboard development. Improve and streamline existing report production processes.
  • Develop a significant understanding of the client’s objectives and compliance processes, procedures, and systems to better understand needs and offer additional suggestions or alternatives to assist in obtaining MI.
  • Provide consultative advice to internal customers on reporting approach, system development and technical support.
  • Rationalize the current state of reporting: understand needs and status quo, remove redundancies, or introduce existing reports to new audiences. As new requests arise, identify existing MI that can be leveraged to satisfy the customer needs.
  • Understand, assess, and prioritize requirements and new requests submitted on individual projects, updating JIRA sprints and sprint planning where appropriate.
  • Drive a data driven approach to managing compliance by providing new views of data and metrics that help to better manage compliance functions and compliance on a global level.
  • Analyze problems in terms of process and/or system functionality and apply analytical and quantitative techniques to formulate, describe, communicate, and coordinate implementation of recommended solutions.
  • Develop and clarify specifications for system related projects to ensure business needs are identified and communicated.
  • Drive the design of production processes that are sustainable, efficient, and effective ensuring that all activities supporting the project, e.g., data transformations are transferred to Production teams at end of the project.
  • Recommend changes and follow through with communication, persuasion, specification, and implementation.
  • Ensure new manual data collections are built timeously and to required standards, utilizing COE resource where applicable.
  • Provide necessary training or training support to end users for tools developed e.g., dashboards, manual data collections etc.
  • Where appropriate manage the delivery of data from source systems and manual software solutions to ensure adherence to data production timescales
RequirementsWhat you will need to succeed in the role:
  • A Masters/ Bachelor’s degree preferable in IT/ Computer Science/ Finance or equivalent experience
  • 5 - 6 years of proven and progressive experience in Compliance at a financial institution or comparable environment.
  • 8 - 10 years of proven and progressive work in a reporting team, project-oriented environment, including management consulting, project management and/or business analysis experience.
  • Experience in designing reports, writing queries to extract data, performing data transformation, etc.
  • Proficiency in MS office suite with Excel/ VBA and PowerPoint skills
  • Experience in Alteryx, SQL, Python and developing Qliksense dashboards will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of JIRA and Agile a plus.
What additional skills will be good to have?
  • Prior experience in Compliance will be an added advantage.
  • Proven ability to distil complex and varied data into information that can be utilized by the global functions to manage and measure performance.
  • Previous experience working on improving process and procedure is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence, Reporting and Data Warehouse solutions is a plus.
  • Outstanding written / verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical, design and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to organize and lead meetings, interviews, or workshops with stakeholders of all seniorities.
