
Software Engineering Lead - DevOps, Azure Cloud

- AKS Cluster Design & Management
- Architect, deploy, and manage secure, scalable AKS clusters across environments (dev, staging, prod)
- Define and implement multi-node pool strategies, auto-scaling, and high availability configurations
- Manage cluster upgrades, patching, and versioning with minimal downtime
- Containerization & Orchestration
- Lead the containerization of applications using Docker and Helm
- Design and maintain Helm charts for application deployments
- Implement namespace strategies, network policies, and resource quotas
- CI/CD Integration
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for AKS deployments using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
- Automate image builds, security scans, and deployment rollouts
- Implement blue-green or canary deployments for zero-downtime releases
- Monitoring, Logging & Security
- Integrate Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana, and Log Analytics for observability
- Implement RBAC, Pod Security Policies, and Azure AD integration for secure access control
- Ensure network security using Azure Firewall, NSGs, and private endpoints
- DevOps & Infrastructure Automation
- Use Terraform or Bicep for AKS and related infrastructure provisioning
- Automate cluster bootstrapping, node pool scaling, and add-on configurations
- Maintain GitOps workflows using tools like Flux or ArgoCD
- Collaboration & Leadership
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize workloads for Kubernetes
- Mentor junior engineers on Kubernetes best practices and DevOps culture
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and post-mortems
- Analyzes and investigates
- Provides explanations and interpretations within area of expertise

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, with 5+ years specifically in Azure cloud and DevOps practices
- Proven experience in leading cloud infrastructure projects and mentoring junior engineers
- Technical Skills:
- Solid experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates
- Experience with containerization and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm
- Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Azure services: Azure Virtual Network, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Monitor, and Azure Security Center
- Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins
- Proficiency in scripting languages: PowerShell, Bash, or Python
- Solid grasp of networking, identity & access management, and cloud security best practices
- Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments and on-prem to cloud migrations
