- Thorough knowledge of materials and application of industrial coatings.
- Understands the application of Engineering Department Procedures, relevant Bechtel design guides and specifications.
- Has a broad knowledge of the application of engineering to plant constructability, as pertinent to construction methods and materials.
- Understands engineering planning and control methods, including computerized methods.
- Understands the roles played by other project disciplines, including basic construction practices and economics.
- Understands industry or regulatory codes/standards and design criteria pertinent to the coatings.
- Skilled in oral and written communication.
- Ability to co-ordinate work with other engineering disciplines.
- Implement / Capture Lesson Learnt. Actively pursue Value Engineering, design, and cost optimization program.
- Interaction with Global office / Home office (abroad), execute work on workshare mode.

- Able to handle multiple projects.
- The candidate will work as part of Global Bechtel team and should have a basic flair for working with personnel of different nationalities. Should have a good proficiency for spoken and written English language.
- Knowledge of engineering work planning and control methods.
- Good understanding of the link between work processes and tools/applications.
- A recognized degree in materials engineering, polymer science or chemistry from an accredited college or university, or
- A professional license in an appropriate engineering discipline from a recognized licensing board such as ISO, SSPC (Protective Coatings Society) or AMPP/NACE, or
- Sufficient number of specialized courses in relevant materials engineering or appropriate engineering disciplines to meet job requirements, and
- Practical work experience (5 to 10 years) or relevant experience in engineering sufficient to demonstrate competence.
- Certification as a Protective Coatings Specialist.
- Recognized diploma/degree in materials engineering, polymer science or chemistry from an accredited college or university.
