The consultant will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with cardiovascular and thoracic diseases, while also performing advanced interventional cardiology procedures. - Clinical Care & Patient Management
- Provide consultation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients with cardiovascular, thoracic, and vascular diseases.
- Conduct thorough clinical evaluations and recommend surgical or interventional procedures as required.
- Manage both elective and emergency cardiac care, ensuring timely and accurate treatment.
- Surgical & Interventional Procedures
- Perform cardiothoracic and vascular surgeries with precision and adherence to best practices.
- Carry out interventional cardiology procedures such as angioplasty, stenting, and catheter-based interventions.
- Oversee pre-operative and post-operative care for cardiac and thoracic patients.
- Collaboration & Coordination
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including anesthesiologists, intensivists, cardiologists, and nursing staff to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Liaise with hospital administration, patient families, and referring physicians for coordinated treatment planning.
- Participate actively in case discussions, tumor boards, and cardiac care planning meetings.
- Patient Education & Counseling
- Counsel patients and their families regarding surgical options, interventional procedures, risks, and outcomes.
- Provide clear post-procedural care instructions and long-term cardiac health management guidance.
- Research, Training & Development
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in CTVS and interventional cardiology.
- Mentor junior doctors, residents, and medical staff in surgical and interventional practices.
- Contribute to hospital research initiatives and publications in cardiology and cardiothoracic care.
- Quality & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to medical protocols, ethical standards, and patient safety guidelines.
- Maintain accurate medical records, case notes, and documentation for patient care.
- Support hospital accreditation and quality control measures through active participation.
- MBBS with MS / DNB in General Surgery followed by M.Ch / DNB in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery (CTVS) from a recognized institution.
- 3+ years of post-qualification experience in CTVS with significant exposure to interventional cardiology.
- Strong expertise in managing complex cardiovascular and thoracic conditions, both surgically and via interventional methods.
- Proficiency in diagnostic tools, imaging techniques, and advanced interventional cardiology procedures.
- Excellent decision-making, patient management, and leadership skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for patient and team interactions.
