Come be a part of changing the way the world reads.Amazon is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Quality Assurance Engineer(QAE) to join the Kindle Content business. The Kindle Renderingteam works on revolutionizing next generation of reading possibilities for millions of customers and thinks ahead in the space to bring more stronger foundations to delight our growing customers of different personas. We are responsible for building ideas from inception to delivery and own the Kindle Content experience foundational tech stacks which brings positive impact to our Customers, Publishers and Authors. We also work across the diverse Kindle Technologies across teams to deliver the delighting experience for our customers on time and raise the bar on engineering excellence on building content experiences at lost cost.Quality Assurance Engineers at Amazon test products at the user level and code level, both manually and using automated tools. Our QAEs are not pure black box testers, they are able to understand software internals, debug problems using log files, and write automated tests with scripting and/or user-level automated tools. QAEs at Amazon are excellent individual contributors capable of taking up tasks from start to completion with minimal help. QAEs would be responsible for understanding the domain and the product in detail and coming up with the test strategy/planning, coming up with the test cases, driving the test case sign-off processes with the stakeholders, contributing to code level Unit tests, test execution and reporting.Key job responsibilities
As a Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE), you will join the team of hands-on, pro-active, self-motivated and seasoned SDE and QAE professionals. In this role, you will:Expert knowledge of QA methodology and industry-standard testing and bug tracking toolsAbility to understand technical specifications and analyse log files.Ability to author complex test plans and test cases.Works with Software Development Engineers and influences test architecture and engineering best practices.Successful in driving quality through process, instrumentation, requirements and testing. - Uses domain knowledge to drive test strategy.Provides quality and risk assessments for related areas and teams.Defines quality and operational metrics within a project.Has detailed knowledge of test strategy for product architecture(s). Makes quality trade-offs between short-term team and long-term business needs.Enthusiasm to dig into technical specifications and troubleshoot problemsStrong organizational skills, ability to track multiple test executions simultaneously and synthesize the resultsExcellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate cross-functionally and across management levels in formal and informal settingsBASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 1+ years of quality assurance engineering experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience in manual testing
- Experience in automation testing
- Experience in UI and API automation testing (Selenium/SOAPUI)PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Experience in API & Mobile testing
