We are seeking a Director of Sales and Business Development for our Pigments Business. This role is designed for a visionary leader who is adept at not just managing but significantly growing our sales and business presence. The ideal candidate will bring an entrepreneurial spirit, a strategic mindset, and the capability to uncover and develop new markets independently. Our pigments are utilised across a broad spectrum of industries, including textiles, coatings, inks, paints, plastics, paper, glass, rubber, and metals, among others. We value long-term commitment and seek individuals who have demonstrated stability and growth within their previous organisations, rather than frequent job changes. Key Responsibilities: Customer Engagement: Actively engage with customers daily through phone, email, or in-person meetings to understand their needs, negotiate deals, and close sales independently. Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive sales and business development strategy that aligns with our company's overarching goals, ensuring the growth of our pigments business. This includes assessing the need for and potentially initiating the formation of a sales team as business needs evolve. Business Development and Growth: Proactively drive new business opportunities within India. Explore and establish distributors for various industry segments, setting and achieving sales targets, and spearheading sales strategies to broaden our market reach and customer base. Market Analysis and Expansion: Conduct in-depth market research to identify trends, customer needs, and opportunities for new products. Based on this analysis, introduce new products to our offerings, managing the entire process from sourcing to sales. This involves understanding market demands, identifying potential suppliers, and ensuring the successful launch and marketing of new products within our pigments portfolio. Distributor Management and Target Setting: Responsible for making distributors for various industry segments and giving them sales targets to ensure a widespread market presence and penetration. Global Market Expansion: Willingness to travel internationally for market research, partnership development, and product training. Qualifications: Solid experience of 10-15 years in sales and business development, preferably with a background in the pigments or related chemical industries, though not mandatory. Proven track record of growing business and sales. Strategic thinker with the ability to conduct market analysis and leverage findings for business growth. Ability to work independently and in an entrepreneurial setting, showcasing initiative and leadership to expand business operations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capability to build relationships with customers, suppliers, and distributors. Based in Ahmedabad, with willingness to travel nationally for trade shows, market research, and distributor management. Additional Notes: The candidate is expected to have or develop a comprehensive understanding of the diverse applications of our pigments and to actively work on expanding our presence in these application industries. While a specific requirement for a sales team is not immediate, the role demands flexibility to adapt and possibly scale operations, including team expansion, as business needs dictate.
