Immediate JoiningEducational Background: A Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in English and B.Ed.International Curriculum Certification.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee the planning of the curriculum content, ensuring it is well sequenced to promote pupil progress.
Strong focus on improving student learning outcomes and academic results.
Ability to identify gaps in academics and assessments and implement effective improvement strategies.
Ensure new teachers are well-aligned with curriculum standards, teaching methodologies, and school expectations.
Foster a strong sense of team cohesion and collaboration within the English Department by encouraging open communication, sharing of best practices, and collective problem-solving.
Expertise in paper setting and review assessments and term end paper across all segments of the English Department to maintain quality and consistency.
Ability to contribute to school newsletters and “Message from the Principal’s Desk.”
Strong coordination and leadership skills to maintain departmental efficiency and collaboration.
Ensure the planned curriculum is effectively and consistently implemented across the school.
Reviewing the quality of textbooks and material created by content team.
Reviewing the corrected assessments of the teachers and providing them with appropriate feedback.
Supporting, training and reviewing of teacher created learning material.
Liaising with other Leaders, Student Support Services and relevant staff with cross-School responsibilities, relevant non-teaching support staff.
Training of teachers
Teacher evaluation/pupils Display – visual evidence, photographs, ICT etc.
Classroom observations done by SLs to understand the teaching process of the teachers and guide them accordingly.
Organizing the Subject weeks like Srijan, Literati, Samanvaya etc. with the help of the subject teachers.
Training the students for inter-house competitions.Skills, Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate for heading the English Department with experience in Cambridge and AS & A-Level education should have the following key qualifications and attributes:Educational Background: A masters degree in English or a related field, with recognized teaching qualifications (e.g., PGCE).Experience: Extensive teaching experience with Cambridge IGCSE, AS & A-Level English, and a strong understanding of Cambridge assessment criteria and syllabi.Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage a department, mentor teachers, and develop a high-quality English curriculum.Pedagogical Expertise: Strong classroom management and teaching skills, with experience in assessment, feedback, and differentiation to meet diverse student needsCommunication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and senior leadership.Commitment to Student Success: A passion for helping students develop language and literacy skills, with a focus on achieving high academic standards.Professional Development: Commitment to continuous learning and the ability to lead professional development within the department.Only local candidates are needed.Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.Background verification will be carried out for the selected candidate.
