The Foundation has adopted a research and consultation-linked approach to inform its strategy and implementation approaches for development. ABF works towards making rural communities self-reliant through its Sustainable Livelihood Programme, launched in 2011. Through multi stakeholder dialogues and deliberations, ABF supports strong grassroot organisations in building localized interventions with potential to translate into sustainable livelihood solutions.For the last decade, ABF has been addressing the socio-economic and ecological challenges faced by rural communities in some of the most remote regions in India. Under the programme, the Foundation focuses on creating creditable paths to stable livelihoods for rural communities and skill development for rural and peri-urban youth. Axis Bank Foundation’s vision is to create resilient communities, with self-sustaining ecosystems that are managed by the very people they benefit. Every project is designed and implemented according to the varied requirements and aspirations of each community. This is achieved by working with several entities ranging from NGO partners, on-ground community workers and members of collectives.Our work spans across geographies and sectors, and we aim to communicate this work with clarity, authenticity, and purpose.About the RoleAs Manager – Communications, you will play a central role in shaping and executing ABF’s communication strategy across platforms. This is a dynamic, hands-on role suited for someone who enjoys crafting stories, translating grassroot insights into compelling content, and managing ideas from concept to completion. You’ll be actively engaging with the programme teams, leadership, and creative partners to bring the Foundation’s voice to life.We are specifically looking for someone with strong journalistic instincts, writing excellence, digital fluency, sharp eye for story angles that are insightful & engaging and skilled in translating grassroots experiences into credible, accessible narratives that resonate with diverse audiences.Key Responsibilities� Primary Responsibilities:1. Content Creation & Storytelling· Write high-quality content including case studies, articles, reports, newsletters, leadership communication, and social media posts.· Bring a journalistic lens to development communication – translating programme insights and field data into accessible, engaging long-form and short-form narratives for different internal and external communication channels· Draft press releases, speeches, and op-eds when required· Work closely with Communications Head to build the narrative of the foundation across multiple formats and stakeholder requirements.2. Social Media· Build and manage platform-specific content calendars (LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, etc.).· Create visually engaging posts using tools like Canva and similar tools ensuring brand consistency· Monitor social media performance, extract insights, and refine strategies to drive engagement and visibility3. Campaigns & Creative Production· Support the ideation and rollout of campaigns in collaboration with the Communications Head.· Support development of short films, reels, and photo features that reflect the Foundation’s values and impact· Liaise with filmmakers, photographers, editors, printers and other creative partners on briefings, scripts, shoot planning and timelines.· Ensure timely delivery and alignment with narrative goalsSecondary Responsibilities:4. Archive & Collateral Management· Build and maintain a well-organised archive of all communications content and creative assets· Design and support the creation of internal and external collaterals such as presentations, reports, and emailers5. Coordination & Execution· Collaborate with programme team and grassroot partners to source authentic stories, hi-res visuals, and updates from the field.· Manage workflows with external communication and creative partners ensuring quality and timelines· Support events, exhibitions, and communication-related outreach activities end to end.Attributes & Work Ethic:· Strong journalistic curiosity and storytelling instinct· Demonstrates ownership, discipline, and a sharp eye for detail· Enjoys and understands the development sector and its context· Self-starter, organised, dependable, and comfortable juggling multiple priorities· Collaborative and respectful, with a solution-oriented mindset to challenges.· Willing to roll up sleeves and get the work done—writing, editing, formatting, creating· Comfortable working both independently and as part of a close-knit team.· Committed to building meaningful, credible communication rooted in real impact.Role Proficiencies:· 5–7 years of experience in communications, content, or digital media—preferably in the social impact, development sector or CSR· Graduate/Postgraduate in Mass Communication, Journalism, Digital Marketing, or related fields.· Exceptional writing and editorial skills with a strong grasp of narrative development· Familiarity with video/photo production workflows and coordination· Ability to independently manage and coordinate multiple projects· Proficiency in tools like Canva, Microsoft Office, and social media scheduling/analytics tools.· Bonus: Interest or experience in using AI tools to support content workflows and ideation.Why This Role Matters:This role offers the opportunity to shape how rural development is understood and communicated with depth, clarity, and purpose.
