Job RequirementsOur client offers innovative design and manufacturing solutions for automotive, and industrial sectors, integrating advanced technologies such as robotics and artificial intelligence that, together with human interaction, contribute to more sustainable development.Quest Global is building a Global Engineering Hub for an important client in Bangalore, this job description is created to resource the Global Engineering Hub.Role ExpectationsThe Controls Engineer,Delivers the Technical scope * Perform a variety of controls engineering work (complex/non-complex depending on the seniority and expertise)Assist LeadsFocus on developing their technical skillsThe typical Engineering activities include, * Control Strategy Development
  • Sensor Integration & Open (measurement) and closed (control) Loops
  • System Validation & Testing, FAT support
  • Documentation & Compliance
  • On-Site Commissioning Support, SAT support
Details of the Engineering Scope of Work:Control Strategy DevelopmentDevelop control strategies for automation and system optimization.Implement PID, adaptive, and model-based control algorithms.Optimize control loops for stability, responsiveness, and energy efficiency.Sensor Integration & Feedback LoopsIntegrate sensor feedback loops for real-time data acquisition and system response.Implement tuning methodologies to enhance control system performance.Ensure accurate signal processing for optimal control actions.System Validation & TestingValidate control performance via simulations and real-time testing.Perform stability and robust analysis of developed control strategies.Ensure compliance with industry safety and performance standards.On-Site SupportTravel to customer sites for debugging and machine qualification.Provide technical support and troubleshooting as required.Assist in tuning and commissioning control systems on-site.Additionally, the role requires the following experience,
  • Participate in concept development to obtain the best quality, cost and deadline.
  • Perform offline programming of special machinery for the automotive industry.
  • Program PLC and HMI systems using the following platforms: TIA Portal / Step 7 (Siemens), Studio 5000 / Factory Talk (Rockwell), etc.
  • Test the different machine sequences (automatic, manual, audits and calibrations, etc).
  • Equipment installation correctly (check that the different devices are wired and calibrated properly).
  • Study machine’s capability studies and analysis (CGs, CGKs, etc.).
  • Troubleshoot of the complete system including Automation, Controls Software and Communication protocols.
  • Stay up to date with technological advances and new products.
  • Carry out designs, create exploded drawings and details drawings.
  • Review self-work and peer work
  • Create design documentation, manuals etc.
Examples of Engineering deliverables:Complete and control narrative, functional control logic (respective documentation), and models.Complete and functional source code of the developed software.Test plan and Test Cases (functional testing & loop testing)User manuals and technical documentation.Troubleshooting guides and system flowcharts.Stability and performance analysis reports.System integration reports and test results.Risk Assessments analysis * Preliminary reviews and program backups if requested by the Client’s technical lead.Work ExperienceSkills (Please list all skills that are needed to succeed in this role):Software SkillsHardware / Domain KnowledgeSoft Skills / Personality Traits * PLC and HMI programming
  • Experience in programming of motion controls systems
  • Knowledge of industrial fieldbus (Ethernet/IP, Profinet etc.)
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Engaged in supporting control strategies for automation and system optimization.
  • Technical documentation (drawings, specifications, etc.)
  • Good knowledge of project management and engineering techniques, processes and tools, including project planning tools
  • Knowledge of Machine Directive and other industrial equipment safety rules
  • Working experience in an international team
Green Belt 6-Sigma Certification / Experience – Good to have * Fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Flexible to travel
  • Knowledge of Spanish, Polish, Chinese or German will be positively valued
