Title: Software Development Engineer in Test IILocation: Chennai, IndiaDepartment: Business SystemsJob PurposeWe are looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test - II to develop and execute automated and manual tests to ensure product quality.The SDET responsibilities include test case development, manual testing, designing and implementing automated UI / API tests for web and API first backend applications.The responsibilities will also include monitoring all stages of the software lifecycle to identify and resolve system malfunctions to meet quality standards.The candidate is also expected to strike a balance between Indian and US time zones to ensure attending meetings with business stakeholders, address production issues, provide service adoption support, etc.Main ResponsibilitiesUnderstand the backend product requirements and:Develop Test planDevelop test casesAutomate test casesConduct:Manual testingAutomation testingPerformance testingProfiling and benchmarking testingBusiness Continuity & Disaster Recovery testingIntegrate all automated tests and reports with CI.Coordinate with your project team, complete testing on time, report bugs and track them to closure.Take part in team standups, product review meetings, weekly meetings.Skill SetsStrong in programming language likes Python / Java / C# etc.Working experience in cloud-native distributed systems.Hands-on experience of Web application/services testing.Hands-on experience in test case development is a must.Hands on experience in setting up CI, test report generation with tools like Allure, Extent reports, Zephyr, etc.Programming Languages: Java/Python/Typescript/C#Web Technologies and Protocols:Understanding web technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScriptFamiliar of HTTP, HTTPS, RESTful APIs, GraphQL, Angular, React, jQueryAutomation Frameworks and Tools:Proficiency in automation frameworks like Selenium/Playwright/Cypress.Test automation tools such as TestNG, JUnit, or NUnit.API Testing:Understanding the principles and characteristics of APIsKnowledge in constructing requests, parsing responses, and identifying issues.Knowledge in writing scripts using Postman/SOAPUI/REST AssuredAble to create, send, and analyze HTTP requests.Candidates with hands-on experience on AWS/Azure for testing/automation or knowledge/certification in AWS/Azure will be preferred.Hands-on experience in test automation of at least 2 years will be preferable.Upbeat, Self-starter and Passionate to learn new technologies.Qualifications & ExperienceMinimum of 2 to 5 years of experience working in a tier-1 organizationB.E / B.Tech or M.E / M.Tech / M.S. in Computer Science Engineering or an equivalent degree with a good JEE / AIEEE / GATE score.10th Grade: State Boards 90%. Central or International Boards: 80%12th Grade: State Boards 90%.
