MECHANIC AUTOMOTIVE FOR STEEL MANUFACTURING - DURG , CHHATTISGARH

• Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, filter replacements, tire rotations) and emergency repairs on diesel-powered vehicles, heavy machinery, and material handling equipment (forklifts, cranes).
• Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Inspect and diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and software to minimize equipment downtime.
• Component Repair: Overhaul or replace engine parts, transmissions, brake systems, and steering mechanisms.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to industrial safety protocols, including LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), while operating in a manufacturing environment.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of vehicle service, fuel consumption, repairs, and parts inventory.
• Welding & Fabrication: Perform minor welding and fabrication tasks to repair vehicle bodies or attachments.

• Experience: Proven experience (typically 2-5+ years) as an auto or diesel mechanic, with preference for experience in heavy equipment.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or ASE certifications are highly preferred.
• License: Valid driver's license (Commercial Driver's License - CDL - may be required for operating heavy vehicles).
• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy parts (50+ lbs), work in varying temperatures, and stand/kneel for extended periods.
• Safety Mindset: Familiarity with OSHA standards and safe working procedures in a plant environment.

• Experience with specific industrial equipment like forklifts (propane/diesel), loaders, or cranes.
• Knowledge of SAP or similar computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

• The work environment involves exposure to fumes, dust, and loud noise typical of a steel plant.
• Flexibility to work in shifts (day/night) and weekends is often required.
