We’re seeking a talented and experienced Engineering Manager to lead our game development team. The ideal candidate has a passion for gaming, strong leadership abilities, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality titles. You’ll oversee all aspects of development—from planning and design through implementation and launch—while providing technical direction, mentoring engineers, and ensuring smooth collaboration across teams.Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of game engineers, fostering professional growth and development.
- Project Management: Oversee planning, execution, and delivery of game projects, ensuring they meet timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Technical Direction: Provide expertise in architecture design, coding standards, and best practices for game development.
- Collaboration: Work closely with designers, artists, producers, and QA to align on goals and deliverables throughout the development cycle.
- Feature Development: Drive implementation of new features and mechanics, translating creative concepts into technical solutions.
- Code Quality: Conduct reviews to maintain standards, improve codebase health, and support QA in bug detection and resolution.
- Optimization: Ensure performance and resource efficiency across platforms and devices for smooth gameplay experiences.
- Technology Evaluation: Stay current on emerging tools, technologies, and industry trends, and assess their potential impact.
- Risk Management: Identify potential challenges in projects and define proactive mitigation strategies.
- Reporting: Provide clear updates to senior management, track progress, and maintain transparency with stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 3+ years of leadership or management experience in game development.
- Strong technical background in game programming and engines (Unity or Unreal).
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- Deep understanding of game design principles, mechanics, and player psychology.
- Knowledge of software development methodologies (Agile/Scrum).
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills across technical and non-technical teams.
