- Evaluate credit risk and support underwriting of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae conventional and small loan requests for various multifamily asset types nationwide, with thorough product knowledge of Agency guidelines.
- Work independently on assigned transactions, timelines, and deal teams during the due diligence process with minimal supervision.
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with analysts, transaction managers, and other key stakeholders.
- Analyze property historical financial statements, budgets, rent rolls, third-party reports, and market data.
- Analyze borrower organizational structure and required parties' financial statements, schedules of real estate owned, contingent liabilities, and credit histories.
- Identify and analyze due diligence documents and third-party reports (appraisal, engineering, environmental, and zoning reports) required for loan submission and approval.
- Stay current on firm-wide risk policies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring all governance, reporting, and data quality requirements are met and maintained.
- 1-5 years of experience in credit risk.
- Attitude and aptitude to learn and enhance knowledge of credit originations.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Deadline orientation, strong attention to detail, and high accuracy.
- Completion of a major corporate or commercial bank credit training program.
- Experience underwriting commercial real estate properties according to GSE (FNMA/FHLMC) guidelines.
- Experience using CLOSER (Commercial Loan Origination Securitization Enterprise Reporting).
