Cloud Systems Engineer As part of our continued expansion, we are on the lookout for a Cloud Systems Engineer to join our Systems Operations Private Cloud team, based in Hyderabad, India. The successful individual will join the Global team currently spread across Europe & North America in the implementation and support of Cloud Services for external customers. The Role As a Cloud Systems Engineer, your responsibilities will include: Deploying private and public cloud infrastructure for new and existing customers Maintaining existing internal and external cloud infrastructure Identifying and deliver technical projects and tasks Troubleshooting and resolving tickets Performing regular maintenance and patching Identifying and resolving potential issues Scripting repetitive tasks and leverage automation whenever possible Working under and learning from senior team members Developing and document processes Weekly shift in on call rotation for after hours coverage Training and assisting level 1 engineers Providing level 2 support Communicating with and maintain customer relationships Taking initiative to remediate issues with little direction Performing under limited oversight and direction Multitasking projects and driving them to completion by established timelines Traveling between 1-2 times per year for conferences or team meetup This is a Technical Hands-On Engineering Role requiring the following Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience: Individuals must have acquired a degree level qualification in Computer Science or equivalent Must have hands-on experience deploying compute and storage hardware 5+ years' experience in a similar role implementing Cloud Solutions across multiple Platforms (VMware, AWS, Azure, Nutanix) Proven experience delivering end to end cloud solutions in both the public and private cloud space Great organizational skills with ability to multi-task is essential You need to be able to plan and prioritize work effectively to ensure we work as a team So you can succeed, you need to be able to take responsibility for your own work, ensuring it is accurate, meets quality standards, and performed on a timely basis Individuals must also have a proven record of working in a team environment and have demonstrated the ability to work in a collaborative manner between groups on an international basis as well as showing strong individual initiative Possess intermediate knowledge and experience in the following areas: VMware Cloud Services (Build & Support of vSphere, vCloud Director, NSX, vSAN) Nutanix HCI (Prism, Calm) AWS Cloud Services (Architect, Build & Support) Microsoft Azure Cloud Services (Architect, Build & Support) Cloud concepts including containers, HCI, virtual networking, public and private clouds Automation (Python, PowerShell or similar) DevOps & Infrastructure as Code Tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation) Networking & Firewalls (Cisco Datacenter Networking, ASA Firewalls, HPE Networking, Software Defined Networking & Edge Services) Microsoft Environments (Windows Server, Active Directory and Domain Services) Linux Systems (Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS or SUSE) Cloud Security Fundamentals SAN & Storage systems (Nutanix, Nimble, Object Storage, VSAN) Backup & Recovery Solutions (Veeam, Asigra, Rubrik, Storage) Deploying and configuring compute and storage hardware remotely Individuals should be Trained & Certified in several of the following areas: VMware Certified Professional (VCP, VCAP) AWS Solutions Architect (Associate, Professional) Microsoft Azure (Technologies & Design Architect) Cisco (CCNA, CCNP) Microsoft (MCSA, MCSE) Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator - RHCSA Achieve 1-2 additional certifications per year Our Company Continent 8 has powered a second digital revolution - a revolution defined by intense, instantaneous, and omnipresent computing power.
