Canada, ANZ & other countries.T&D business ss looking for experienced Principal engineers in HV Plant Discipline, as we look to grow the team in line with business requirements. So, if you are interested in working for an internationally renowned consultancy and working on some challenging projects across UK, Canada, ANZ region come join us at AtkinsRéalis.Responsibilities:Using your experience and knowledge, you will be leading the delivery of a variety of projects drawing upon the wider team for the technical engineering requirements and building a strong relationship with our clients. You will be client-facing, responsible for the delivery of our work and making sure it meets our client’s expectations.You will be taking up the following responsibilities:

Experience of undertaking FEED or Detailed design of HV and EHV (132kV to 765kV) AIS & GIS Substations
Hands on experience in preparation of detailed primary deliverables / drawings such as Single Line Diagram, Layout, Elevation, Clearance diagram, Erection key diagram, Control room building layouts, Cable trench details and layouts, Cable routing layouts etc.
Hands on experience in preparation of BOQ’s, Specifications and Data sheets for Primary Equipment’s.
Hands on Experience in design calculations such as equipment sizing calculations, selection of Primary equipment’s, Bus bar sizing, short circuit force Calculations, Heat loading Calculations, Earthing and Lightning Protection assessments with calculations and relevant drawings, HV Cable Sizing, Auxiliary system design etc.
Support and solve queries during construction, testing and commissioning, attend site meetings and inspections.
Report Writing Skills.
Preparation of bid documents and bid evaluations.
Ensure interdisciplinary coordination.
Contribute to Tendering activities by supporting with preliminary design documentation & drawings, Bill of Quantities, Engineering Man Hour Estimates etc.
Lead HV Plant design and mentor junior engineers and graduate engineers.
Provide engineering support and solve queries during construction, testing and commissioning, attend site meetings and inspections

Requirements:

Graduate/Post-Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering with around 7 to 15 years of relevant experience in HV and EHV Substation design and engineering.
Ability to produce design documentation – Design Basis Report, Case Studies and Project Design Specification
Be competent to check the design drawings & documents produced by other engineers.
Member of IET & working towards Chartered Engineer accreditation.
Experience of working UK National Grid / SSEN substation projects
Desirable – Meet the requirements of National Grid, UK accreditation such as BP141, CDAE etc.
Experience as Commissioning engineer will be added advantage.
HVDC design experience (optional)
OHL design experience. (optional)
HV Cable design experience. (optional)
Experience of Working Groups and Technical committees such as CIGRE, IEC, AS, BS, IS and IEEE.
Travel to Substation sites may be required.

Behavioural requirements:

Strong English Communication Skills needed to co-ordinate with client and other internal stake holders.
Be a part of the team which is working at different geographical locations and co-ordinate for the needs of the project.
Flexibility to travel to client sites when required.
Capability to work under tight deadlines while achieving objectives with the ability to deal with competing priorities and manage time appropriately.
