Area Sales Manager - Modern Trade Gurgaon | FMCG Tea business Our Client, the Employer! Our client is an emerging tea manufacturer and sellers based at North India but caters to B2B clients, Corporates and HoReCa companies. They have a plan to expand in international market and grow the business 2X by next year. Purpose of the Role As a Modern Trade Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to drive sales and increase market share within the modern trade channel. Modern trade refers to large-format retail chains such as supermarkets, hypermarkets, and department stores. Your primary goal will be to establish strong relationships with key accounts, optimize product visibility, and maximize sales opportunities within the modern trade landscape Key Responsibilities: Business Development: Identify and target potential modern trade partners to expand distribution and increase market penetration for green tea products. Negotiate and secure new listings, product placements, and promotional opportunities within modern trade channels. Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, competitive landscape, and consumer preferences to drive business growth. Relationship Management: Establish and nurture strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within modern trade accounts. Collaborate with modern trade partners to develop joint business plans, promotional activities, and trade marketing initiatives. Provide regular updates on market trends, competitor activities, and performance reports to internal teams and management. Sales and Revenue Generation: Drive sales volume, revenue, and market share growth by implementing effective trade marketing strategies and promotional programs. Conduct periodic business reviews with modern trade partners to assess performance, address concerns, and explore opportunities for mutual growth Monitor sales performance, analyze data, and identify areas for improvement to achieve sales targets Product Placement and Merchandising: Work closely with merchandising teams to ensure optimal product placement, attractive displays, and shelf management within modern trade outlets. Conduct regular store visits to monitor compliance and identify areas for improvement. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, product development, and supply chain, to ensure timely product availability, optimal inventory levels, and effective brand positioning Provide insights and feedback on customer preferences, market dynamics, and competitive activities to guide product development and marketing strategies. Payment ensuring and responsibility : The responsibility for payment security and ensuring the financial stability of transactions with distributors lies with the company, rather than individual employees. However, your role is to facilitate and ensure payment security. Team Player: Managing your team like Sales Officers and Promoters etc. Qualifications and Background Minimum of three years of experience in Modern Trade Sales, with a proven track record of success in driving sales and revenue growth. Strong understanding of the Industry and market for Tea in various indian cities. Build existing relationships and networks within the customers of modern trade sectors preferred. Background of FMCG Sales is essential. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate value propositions effectively. Demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships with channel partners and distributors. Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Willingness to travel internationally as required. A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or International Business is preferred.
