From the moment a seed is planted through to harvest, crops need to be protected from weeds, insects and diseases as well as droughts and floods, heat and cold.Syngenta Crop Protection is headquartered in Switzerland.Job DescriptionRole purposeThis role is active in the AMEA Seedcare Leadership Team, Global Seedcare Technical Management, Country CPD Team, Country Technical Market Development Team, AMEA Seedcare Field Expert Network, AMEA Key Accounts.

Collaborate with global CPD and country CPD teams in leading the product development of new AI’s, product enhancement and solutions for Seedcare across AMEA.
As a core member of an AMEA Portfolio Leadership Team (PLT) provide clear technical data that supports sound decision making for the PLT and shape technical offers that support key Portfolio Life Cycle Management decisions.
Leverage technical know-how to add value (including new chemical and non-chemical technologies, market fit, customer needs, brand development, technical launch platform, competitor intelligence) to the AMEA Seedcare business and drive trialling productivity by optimising development resource within agreed project priorities.
Support Seedcare Institutes, country Technical Market Development NPI development with campaign teams for PLCM.
Lead and build capabilities in technical excellence in the AMEA Seedcare Field Expert Network.

Accountabilities

To provide technical leadership and direction for key development projects, across AMEA for the Seedcare business.
Contribute expert technical know-how to AMEA Seedcare Portfolio Leadership Team (PLT), Global Seedcare Technical Management, Country CPD Team, Country Technical Market Development Teams, AMEA Seedcare Field Expert Network, AMEA Key Accounts.
Set direction for biology experiments leveraging cross functional collaboration with a focus on integrated digital technologies for Product Biology to optimise development programmes.
Build capability to develop a sound practical understanding in undertaking field trials including statistical analysis, data visualization, and insight generation for country CPD teams.
Design and review protocols with CPD teams including any technical training on SOPs for uniformity of target pressure, application, crop maintenance, non-target management, crop and target assessment, and sampling technique.
Prioritise product biology development resources to maximise the value of the Seedcare portfolio for AMEA
Propose new products and solutions to add value to the AMEA Seedcare portfolio.

QualificationsKnowledge, experience & capabilitiesCritical knowledge

Master or PhD degree in agriculture or relevant biological sciences

Critical experience

Minimum 7 years of experience in crop protection industry.
Minimum 3 years of experience in Seedcare technologies.
Deep understanding of chemical and non-chemical crop protection.
Broad background in agriculture and crop production techniques.

Critical technical, professional and personal capabilities

Sound crop agronomy and production economics.
Realistic understanding of the commercial drivers in major crops.
Critical thinking in finding new business opportunities for product development.
