NLHealthServices.ca Job Summary The Diagnostic Imaging Technologist III performs Cardiac and General Ultrasonography procedures within the Diagnostic Imaging Program. The Technologist prepares patients for procedures, maintains equipment and supplies, completes appropriate records, and collects statistical data. Additionally they operate digital echo equipment in performance of 2 and 3 D/M Mode Color Doppler, as well as Pulsed and CW Doppler for inpatients and outpatients, either in the department or via portable equipment. Regularly stands, walks, or sits for extended periods to perform activities. A very high level of alertness and attentiveness is required when performing scans/procedures due to patients condition, safety and also because some scans/procedures are captured in real time. Job Qualifications Graduation from a recognized (accredited) program in Diagnostic Ultrasonography is required. Current clinical training/instruction in echocardiography and/or completion of a program in Cardiac Sonography from a recognized institution is required. Current registration and member in good standing with Sonography Canada and/or the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
