- Applies technical knowledge to assignments with a defined scope such as testing the performance of the infrastructure and understanding and verifying that requirements were successfully met
- Demonstrates strong Mainframe Systems Programming including a deep understanding of z/OS Concepts, JCL, JES, SDSF, VSAM, Catalog management, SMP/E, USS, Parallel Sysplex, IBM system utilities and some of the IBM/Broadcom CA/ BMC Compuware software artifacts
- Possess a strong drive to create innovative solutions for complex challenges using automation tools.
- Additionally, a passion for technology and a willingness to embrace new ideas for managing Mainframe infrastructure software are crucial for success in this role.
- Drives results, collects and analyzes monitoring data in test and production, and sees assignments through to completion
- Carries out day to day work assignments with some guidance and within documented parameters
- Escalates issues to appropriate leaders
- Develops considerations for upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications
- Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
- Formal training or certification on infrastructure disciplines concepts and 2+ years applied experience
- Strong Mainframe Systems Programming including a deep understanding of z/OS Concepts, JCL, JES, SDSF, VSAM, Catalog management, SMP/E, USS, Parallel Sysplex, IBM system utilities and some of the IBM/Broadcom CA/ BMC Compuware software artifacts.
- Proficiency with RESTful APIs, zOWE, and zOAU is essential
- Understanding or have experience with agile and lean philosophies
- Software development experience in one or more general purpose programming languages: REXX, Unix Scripting, zOSMF Workflows, Python etc.
- Familiarity with Experience with RESTful APIs, zOWE, zOAU etc
- Hands on experience with software-driven systems management using scripting languages such as JCL, REXX, Python, Unix Shell scripting, and zOSMF Workflows is desired
- Knowledge of one specific infrastructure technology and basic programming languages or database management systems
- Intermediate understanding of business technology drivers and their impact on architecture design
- Ability to think creatively to deliver solutions through continuous improvement
