Chemist / Officer - ETP QC
- Bharuch, Gujarat
- Permanent
- Full-time
- Sampling and Analysis: Collecting representative samples from different stages of the ETP, including the inlet, various treatment units (e.g., equalization, aeration, clarification), and the final outlet. They then perform a battery of tests to measure key parameters such as:
- pH
- Total Suspended Solids (TSS)
- Total Dissolved Solids (TDS)
- Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD)
- Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD)
- Oil and Grease
- Heavy metals
- Residual chlorine
- Other specific pollutants relevant to the industry.
- Instrumentation and Equipment: Operating and maintaining a variety of laboratory instruments, including spectrophotometers, pH meters, conductivity meters, and titration apparatus. Calibration and troubleshooting of this equipment are also essential to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Data Management and Reporting: Accurately recording all analytical data, preparing daily, weekly, and monthly reports on the ETP's performance. This includes maintaining logbooks, generating trend analyses, and preparing compliance reports for submission to environmental agencies.
- Process Monitoring and Optimization: Closely monitoring the chemical and biological processes within the ETP. Based on their analysis, they may suggest adjustments to chemical dosing, aeration levels, or other operational parameters to optimize treatment efficiency and ensure consistent compliance.
- Compliance and Regulation: Staying abreast of all applicable environmental laws and regulations. They are responsible for ensuring that the ETP operates in full compliance with these standards and for preparing for and participating in environmental audits and inspections.
- Safety and Housekeeping: Adhering to strict safety protocols within the laboratory and the plant. This includes the safe handling and disposal of chemicals and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
