Job Description:Back End Software DeveloperJob Summary:Pipeline Manager is Emerson's real-time (24/7) hydraulic modeling, batch tracking and leak detection software solution. At the core is a hydraulic simulator and batch tracking / product movement package developed by in-house simulation experts, along with a user interface to create a distributed client-server solution.Our customers transport and store liquid hydrocarbons and chemicals in the (midstream) pipeline and terminal space. You will join a team of software developers, QA analysts and product managers focused on providing excellent engineering software solutions which bring strong business value to our customers.In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Design and Develop software modules to address enhancement requests and solve customer issues
  • Liaise with group Lead Developers to:
  • Address customer issues
  • Provide breakdown of tasks required to implement features
  • Estimate effort
  • Implement requirements
  • Provide clear progress updates
  • Fix bugs
  • Work with the QA team to investigate and fix software defects
  • Write code that is well-designed, high-quality, reusable and unit tested
Participate in an Agile software development environmentWho You Are:You quickly and decisively act in constantly evolving, unexpected situations. You adjust communication content and style to meet the needs of diverse partners. You always keep the end in sight; puts in extra effort to meet deadlines. You analyze multiple and diverse sources of information to define problems accurately before moving to solutions. You observe situational and group dynamics and select best-fit approach.For This Role, You Will Need:
  • SQL Server, Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in algorithm-based software
  • Experience in Agile methodology
  • Experience in secure product development lifecycle
  • Experience in pipeline operations
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or equivalent
  • 3 - 5 years of solid C# Object Oriented design principles and design patterns
  • .NET experience
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand and address software algorithm use cases in a structured manner
  • Ability to learn quickly and pivot rapidly between different real-world issues in customer implementations
  • Strong troubleshooting capability which can be applied in an operational software environment
  • Excellent documentation¸ communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in a distributed (i.e. global) team structure
  • Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms
