Title: Director, Analyst – I&O GTP Edge Research TeamLocation: Remote IndiaJob DescriptionGartner Analysts are industry thought leaders who create must-have research, market predictions and best practices for a broad range of world-leading organizations. A Director possesses a keen eye for identifying gaps, problems, and solutions within the market they serve. They use their knowledge to help clients make better decisions, solve complex issues, and execute new practices that propel clients’ businesses toward key objectives. A Director publishes these insights as pragmatic and/or provocative research. Additionally, they reinforce Gartner’s value every day by engaging clients via in-person and virtual meetings, sales support visits, Gartner conferences and industry events.The successful candidate is an expert in Edge computing, Internet of Things (IoT), and IT/OT convergence and integration. Experience with cloud technologies is also desired. The candidate will focus on written and customer-facing deliverables aimed at the technical staff who face the challenges of improving on-premises, hybrid, and edge infrastructure.Key areas of focus include all aspects of Edge computing, including application architecture, data management and distribution, security, and hardware technologies. The ideal candidate will be able to create Edge technical architectures for specific industry verticals such as retail, manufacturing, healthcare, and/or industrial. They will also have experience with the technical engineering challenges of Edge computing.What you will do:Collaboratively write and publish analysis and positions at a regular cadence through evidence-based research.Create compelling, technical research on edge computing topics, aimed at IT practitioners.Provide professional representation of Gartner’s brand, research, insights, and analysis to technical teams in Gartner’s client base.Provide clients and prospects with actionable advice aligned to their designated content area via virtual or face-to-face interactions.Apply personal experience and technical expertise to an array of clients, situations, and industries.Communicate complex concepts concisely and with authority.Work with Gartner Sales executives to attract, engage and retain Gartner customers.Proactively contribute to thought leadership and research communities.Collaborate with the Gartner for Technical Professions Research Center of Excellence (GRC) to create research, including reference architectures.What you will need:In-depth technical knowledge on edge computing technologies, including IoT and OT/IT convergence and integration.Experience with the intersection between edge and cloud technologies, such as integrating OT with the cloud.Experience with edge computing across industry verticals, including retail, manufacturing, healthcare, and industrial.Knowledge of edge design patterns with the aptitude to craft reference architectures across industry verticals.Experience designing detailed data pipelines.Knowledge of multi-access edge computing (mec).Knowledge of OT solutions from industry specific vendors spanning vertical markets.Exposure to edge-native applications, application architecture, and containers for edge.Knowledge of AIOps, Edge AI, and DevOps for edge.Knowledge of Distributed data, data management, growth of data at the edge.Exposure to edge security and networking technologies and practicesPossess a natural curiosity to explore clever alternative to solve complex problems.Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Graduate degree preferred.Strong written and verbal proficiency, analytical and presentation skills; ability to engage clients and respond effectively to questions.Ability to work independently, while also being intrinsically motivated to collaborate across teams and support the workflow of others in a multicultural global team.Strong organizational skills: ability to work under tight deadlines and produce high quality deliverables.What you will get:Competitive salary, generous paid time off policy, charity match program, and more!Group Medical Insurance, Parental Leave, Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Collaborative, team-oriented culture that embraces diversity.Professional development and unlimited growth opportunities#LI-JK2Who are we?At Gartner, Inc.
