- While providing HSE leadership to the site, identify best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks, raise safety awareness and improve safe work practices, ensuring 100% compliance to local regulatory and Firmenich Corporate HSE requirements.
- Take ownership of site HSE leading and lagging indicators and implement strategic initiatives to improve the indicators.
- Ensure key HSE initiatives as determined by Global are prioritized and implemented at the site to enhance the site HSE culture being best in class, coordinate site employee safety programs and review site short term and long term strategies.
- Conduct / coordinate worker and contract worker training in area’s such as HSE regulations, hazardous condition monitoring and pursue use of safety equipment along with Do’s and Don’t’s for GSP (good safety practices)
- Lead risk assessment program of key existing operations and new projects, management of process safety program and management of change program
- Investigate (participate in investigation) industrial incidents, near misses and occupational injuries to determine causes, install preventive measures and manage return to work activity.

- Minimum 10-13 years of progressive field HSE experience with minimum 5 years’ experience of production floor in a reputed company committed to safety. Additional Safety certifications will be an added advantage.
- Preferably Degree in Chemical Engineering/ Bachelors or master’s in chemistry and Diploma in Industrial Safety.
- Through knowledge of applicable local HSE regulations and Global guidelines like OSHA, ANSI, NFPA etc.
- Team player, ability to work in matrix Environment and be able to communicate with employees at all levels
- Ability to build trust and confidence with management, with consultation and persuasive skills
- Strategic thinking and leadership skills with proven examples of the same.
