Drone Pilot Assistant (Fresher / Entry-Level UAV Operations)

1. Role OverviewThis is an entry-level role supporting UAV (drone) operations, testing, and maintenance activities. The candidate will work closely with experienced drone pilots and engineering teams to assist in field missions and learn basic UAV piloting and troubleshooting. The role involves hands-on exposure to drone systems, field deployments, and operational workflows.2. Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in pre-flight checks including system readiness, calibration, and safety verification
  • Support post-flight activities including inspection, data logging, and reporting
  • Assist drone pilots during field missions and test operations
  • Support drone assembly, basic configuration, and component handling
  • Manage battery systems including charging, storage, and usage tracking
  • Maintain accurate flight logs, checklists, and operational documentation
  • Assist in troubleshooting basic UAV hardware and operational issues
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for drone operations
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory compliance
  • Support field testing activities across different locations
  • Coordinate with engineering teams for test execution and feedback
  • Participate in training sessions to develop UAV piloting skills
3. Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electronics, Robotics, Aeronautics, Mechanical, or related field
  • Fresher or up to 1 year of relevant experience (drone/RC systems preferred)
  • Basic understanding of UAV systems or robotics concepts
  • Willingness to travel frequently for field testing assignments
  • Physically fit for outdoor and field-based work environments
4. Technical SkillsUAV / Drone Fundamentals:
  • Basic knowledge of UAV components (motors, ESC, flight controller, sensors)
  • Understanding of drone assembly and calibration basics
Operations & Testing:
  • Pre-flight and post-flight procedures
  • Flight data logging and checklist handling
Tools / Exposure:
  • RC controllers or drone simulators
  • Basic troubleshooting of drone hardware
Regulatory Awareness:
  • Basic awareness of DGCA drone guidelines (India)
5. Good to Have (Optional)
  • Experience with FPV flying or drone simulators
  • Exposure to aeromodelling or robotics projects
  • Awareness of DGCA drone regulations
  • Hands-on experience with hobby drones or DIY UAV kits
