- Analyse tender documents, drawings, and specifications to accurately determine project scope and requirements.
- Perform precise quantity take-offs for all civil work items.
- Obtain and analyse quotations from suppliers and subcontractors for materials, equipment, and services.
- Prepare detailed and competitive cost estimates and comprehensive bid proposals.
- Conduct cost analysis, value engineering, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain and update a comprehensive database of unit rates and historical project data.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to validate estimates and clarify requirements.
- Assess project risks for tenders and incorporate appropriate contingencies.
- Support contract negotiations by providing detailed cost breakdowns.
- Ensure all estimation activities comply with industry standards, building codes, and regulations.
- Prepare and present clear estimation reports to management for review and approval.
- Stay updated on market trends, technologies, and pricing to enhance estimation accuracy.
Required skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, or Quantity Surveying.
- Proven experience in civil construction tender estimation, cost control, and quantity surveying.
- Strong proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
- Expert-level proficiency in MS Excel for complex calculations and data analysis.
- Familiarity with industry-standard estimation or BIM software is a strong advantage.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills with high accuracy.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and project processes.
- Knowledge of local building codes and tendering procedures in India.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills for stakeholder collaboration.
